My 12 year old daughter chose this hotel for "her" trip to Paris....I couldn't be happier! The hotel is in the BEST location with a metro stop within a 2 minute walk, terrific shops + cafes (try Les Editeurs for the best croissants and huge delicious breakfasts) (go to Bar de la Croix Rouge for fantastic sandwiches/salads/desserts for lunch). Church...

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights for our 1st trip to Paris. The accommodations were perfect and the location was AMAZING!! Perfect for touring all of Paris. Metro right around the corner. Restaurants everywhere and great shopping as well! We stayed in a Luxury room which was very spacious and wonderfully appointed. Our room was very quiet as...

We only had a few days in Paris and the staff at the Odeon Saint-Germain did all they could to maximize our stay. They could not have been more helpful. The location was perfect, the main tourist icons being so accessible and there is a huge array of restaurants within a 5 minute walk, but it was the staff and...

We have only just returned from a four-week vacation in Europe, the third week of which was in Paris, where we stayed at the Hotel Odeon Saint-Germain again. Our family loves it there. We take two rooms, one for mom and dad, the other for our two children, 16 and 15. The rooms are beautifully decorated and quiet not cluttered....

This was out thrid time in Paris and we have previously stayed in Le Marais and the Arc de Triomphe but decided we wanted to stay on the Left Bank . We found The Odeon Saint Germain and thought it looked good. Reviews were positive. Well, it was better than we could ever have imagined. Perfect location from which we...

First visit to Paris as a tourist, and could not fault the hotel Odean, a fantastic location with plenty of bars, good bisto's, restaurants within a stone's throw, and Metro.Walkable to the Louvre & Seine. Rooms were quaint and ideal for a weekend break, maybe some were smaller than others, but how much time do you spend in your room...

If you accept the rooms being small, (we had 2 rooms about 10-12 sq metres each) then you will find many other things to like about this hotel. It is charming. The location is great. The staff polite and helpful. The rooms though small, are nicely done up, and you can tell thought was given to every aspect of the...

We just got back from a London/Paris vacation. Our hotel in Paris was absolutely perfect in all respects....especially the staff! The hotel is charming and the location is perfect...close to all the 6th arrondissement activity but on a quite street so a restful place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The rooms are very nice with comfortable pillows and...

Location great, nice hotel. The rooms aren't big but they have character. We are a family and had a nice situation with adjoining rooms: two rooms with an outer door. Really perfect. Breakfast is fine, and happy with the price. Main area where they could improve: the mattress is a big old and had a hard time getting to sleep....

We recently stayed in Hotel Odeon St Germain for two different nights a week apart, in two different rooms. I have rather mixed feelings. The location is great and the staff is helpful as has been noted in many reviews, so I could see how some travelers would love this place. But each of the two rooms we stayed in...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
