About
Welcome to Maison Mère, a hotel with a distinctive identity, nestling in the heart of Paris, in the Village Montholon, an authentic district of the 9th arrondissement. A home full of character, Parisian but against the grain, leaving nothing to chance. A cosy nest, the 51 rooms and 2 suites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and comfort, decorated in a vintage style that we've come across time and time again, and become an extension of your home.
Maison Mère is much more than a hotel: it's a festive home and a creative breeding ground, with an evolving art gallery and a designer pop-up store. Nectar, the restaurant and cocktail bar, offers a gastronomic experience. The coworking café is the ideal place for team building or business lunches.
Maison Mère is centrally located in Paris, within a 10-minute walk of Grands Boulevards and Gare du Nord.

We were greeted warmly on check in, and asked about our journey, and any plans we might have whilst in Paris. There appeared to be a genuine interest in what we might like to do, without any pushing of any particular landmark, or activity.
On entering the room, there were personalised messages on a mirror and also a postcard, along with some small gifts, and a single flower. Touches like this can make you feel much more welcome.
The room was spotlessly clean, and smelled fresh. The AC was plenty efficient and quiet and kept the room at a comfortable temperature throughout our stay, when the outside temperature was into the late 20’s Celsius.
Breakfast was included in our room rate, and was good every day. Plenty of choice, and very very attentive staff. At no point did we feel rushed or pressured to eat and leave quickly.
The staff are what make this hotel an amazing place to stay. They are personable, polite, and take interest in what you would like to do. They make fabulous recommendations for restaurants, or places to go, and even highlighting an Olympic boutique which had a sale on (rather than inflated prices in the souvenir stores)
They would ask your plans every morning when you saw them, and then ask how your day was when you returned to the hotel.
We didn’t have any issues at all with the hotel or the staff, but I imagine if we had, they would have been dealt with quickly.
The location of the hotel is also superb. 5 minutes walk from Cadet, and mostly no more than 30 minutes slow walking to many other prominent landmarks. There are loads of restaurants within a 20 minute walk, and the area always felt very very safe.
If you want to treat yourself, book your stay here.
If you want to feel welcome, book your stay here.
If you want to be comfortable, book your stay here.
In fact, just book your stay here. You won’t regret it.
The bathroom had Nuxe products which were honey scented, they were replenished daily as required. The shower was fantastic, just the right amount of power. There were plenty of towels and we were really pleased to have dressing gowns and slippers.
The breakfast was great, lots of choice, croissants, ham, cheese, yoghurt cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. There also these amazing little cakes that were half brownie half blondie…. The kids LOVED them. The lady who served us made the most fantastic coffee with a pretty flower.
We ate in the restaurant on our first night, the food was to a high standard, my boys were blown away by the duck tacos! The prawn bisque had so much depth of flavour.
You can’t go far wrong with Maison Mere!
I did receive a bill for a mini-bar lemonade that I had not touched (I would never touch a hotel minibar, even if the world was ending! :-)), but they graciously refunded this when I pointed out the error.
I go to Paris every other year, and I will certainly stay at Maison Mère again. The whole stay was a pleasure.
I've been to Paris twice before, this was my husband's first time.
The hotel was an accidental find; I did a quick google search before leaving and found it, and I was able to book about 2 weeks prior to our leaving. The price was great (well within budget for this area of Paris). First, the entire staff was charming. Miriam and Raul were AMAZING and so lovely. They were accommodating and helped us navigate the COVID situation (the EU uses QR codes, the US does not). They made some great suggestions for our staff. They offered to get tickets to the main attractions (Effiel, Versaille, etc.)
Restaurants, shopping, etc. is walkable from the hotel, including two metro stops (Cadet and Possionere). We were close to Gard du Nord and could quickly walk to other neighborhoods and spots (not far from Magenta, La Fayette, and other streets). The room was clean and lovely. I would HIGHLY recommend booking your stay on the top floor, there is a balcony, which was nice to have. We did not get breakfast every day, but the hotel allowed us to pop in for a daily fee (~15 euro). The food was good, and the staff was great and so lovely. This hotel is everything we could ask for during our week-long stay. I would recommend this place again, and we will probably stay there when we return to Paris next year.
I stayed in a superior double room; the bed was huge, very comfortable and with an abundance of good quality pillows. My room fronted the street, and I was pleased with how quiet it was. The bathroom was 'perfectly formed', but with a fantastic shower which was big, had lots of hot water and a shower head big enough to worry about drowning under it.
The breakfast was good, although that is not a high priority for me so I didn't pay a huge amount of attention. I did notice that their tea brand and selection was really good.
I'll definitely be staying there when I return to Paris.
"Try the crookie at the boulangerie close by! The hotel’s cappuccino is great. The gym is about an 8 minute walk away and it’s very simple. "Read full review
"The bedding has Indian curry smell. I could not breather. There is a fruit bug that was annoying. Shower water was not hot."Read full review
