I found this hotel on expedia and booked based on reviews + price. This was a great choice! The location is fabulous to be able to walk through Saint Germain to find a place for anything you need. We walked to Notre Dame and the Louvre from the hotel (both less than 20 minutes walking). We also walked home from...

I have been coming to Paris for the last 55 years.... In 1985 I discovered The Madison, and it has become my " home away from home " The location is fantastic, right in the heart of St.Germain, across from the Deux Magots and Le Flore The staff is wonderful, welcoming and always helpful, especially Jean-Marc, Christian and Alexandre who...

Perfectly located across from St Germain Church, Les Deux Magots, many other great bistros and cafes, ATM machines nearby, taxi line, tons of cute shops, and walking distance to the Seine. The rooms are small, but not unusual for Europe. L'Occitane toiletry products are nice. My friends and I loved the bar in the lobby--it's very small but perfect to...

I stayed at this hotel very recently. Receptionist and all staff are extremely nice. However the room I stayed at (only one night) was very gloomy, small and pretty dark. Shower also looked pretty outdated although it was fully functional. I didn't feel super comfortable in that room but that is only because it had carpet on walls (to prevent...

Great location with buses and tourist spots/ restaurants, friendly staff and everyone spoke English and helped us book tickets for events, very helpful employees that were knowledgeable about the venues we wanted to attend (i.e. Louvre, Moulin rouge, etc) and room service food tasted great even at 1 in the morning. Didn't get the breakfast buffett but had breakfast delivered...

Small rooms. Small bathroom. Shower drain partially clogged. Staff very good. Best location in Paris, in my opinion. Restaurants, magazines, church, monuments. In few minutes, by walking, you may go to the main places of Paris, like Notre Dame, Louvre Museum, Saint Germain de Près, Saint Sulpice.

Great location, comfortable dining area and lobby, Small but comfortable room with nice modern bathroom. Concierge was extremely helpful planning our short stay and getting us last minute reservations at Bocca and also getting us to the airport the next day.

We came back to this hotel after many years and found it had been completely redecorated. The entrance hall is spacious and has lots of comfortable sitting areas. Tucked just off of Rue St Germain, you almost don't notice the Madison. Once inside, though, you'll find a thoroughly professional and friendly staff (Alexander, the Concierge, is a tribute to the profession!) and quiet well-appointed rooms that ensure the utmost privacy. A small bar and elegant breakfast room complete the picture. Just the kind of "small but perfect" hotel...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Madison Hotel, in the Latin Quarter of Saint Germain-des-Prés, is a boutique hotel in a chic, contemporary style. This delightful hotel with its 50 rooms and suites is located on the Left Bank opposite the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and a mere stone's throw from the Seine, the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay, and the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris. The hotel rubs shoulders on the Boulevard Saint Germain with the Café de Flore and the Café de 2 Magots, at the heart of a quarter famed for its cafés, art galleries, museums, antique dealers and designer fashion boutiques. The Madison Hotel is also firmly at the heart of literary Paris... Albert Camus spent some time at the hotel in the spring of 1940, and it was here that he completed his existentialist novel "L'Etranger" (The Outsider). “I would reserve a double room next time - it was just me but I was on a long trip and had a lot of luggage....the single was a little tight. Very functional but not too roomy - typical European hotel size. ”
StaceyR163, 16 May 2017 | Read review
“The room, and bathroom, were spacious, clean, and tastefully equipped. It was more than the typical tiny room one encounters, even in the more pricey hotels. It was very well laid out. I would have preferred a name brand French scented soap, conditioner, and shampoo, though what was there was ample and fine.”
