We just returned from a week in Paris and Rome. On our last night in Paris we decided to stay near the city center. We decided on Hotel Delavigne based on the positive reviews on tripadvisor and its reasonable prices. The hotel didn’t disappoint. The rooms are small, but nicely decorated with large bathrooms. The employees were very nice and...

This was my first trip to Paris, and I took my mother along as a Mother's Day gift. We spent 5 nights at the Hotel Delavigne, and found it to be a lovely and accommodating hotel. Herve (the manager and weekday concierge) was wonderful to us, and the other staff were also very polite and met our every need. We...

This hotel has very basic looking rooms and bathrooms that are outdated. While that is actually not a huge issue with me, what I was very displeased with was the staff's attitude. The desk staff was very curt and arrogant when asked simple questions more than once. I have stayed in some hotels that are located in super locations, but...

We stayed at the Hotel Delavigne on our first trip to Paris. We rented a single, double, and triple for our party. As noted the rooms are all small compared to American hotels....but we were only really in them to sleep! The location is great - easy walk to Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, etc. My wife found some great shopping...

Our family spent 7 nights at the Delavigne. This hotel is a solid value. The location is very good, the Odeon Metro is a short walk away. There are many little restaurants, cafes, and shops easily found in walking distance. There are many interesting landmarks in walking distance too: Sorbonne, Pantheon, Garden and Palace of Luxembourg. The linens were always...

The Hotel Delavigne is a charming hotel in a splendid loation for touring the city (near blvds Saint Germain and Saint Michel). There is a metro stop 2 blocks away and the fabulous Luxembourg garden is a short walk away. The rooms are well appointed but extremely small. There was very little maneuverability in our room especially with 2 large...

My husband and i stayed at the Delavigne in Oct 05 for our honeymoon. The hotel room was a good size, and the bathroom was excellent. The reception staff were a little less friendly, but the breakfast room is very cute. the only let down of this hotel is that the walls are paper thin, and we would hear coversations...

I stayed at the Delavigne during the last week of Septmber 2005 with my wife, and I think this hotel is the best choice for price in the Latin Quarter. The hotel is located near the Odeon (metro stop about 200 yards), in a quiet side street far from the mayhem of the St. Michel square. We booked a twin...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
