Went with this hotel based on reviews on this site, as well as Frommer's review. Sad to say I was terribly disappointed. Have been to Paris twice before and this hotel did not compare. I knew the St.-Germain area was "lively" but the noise in our room was unbearable. We were in rooms 10 & 11. Advertised as connecting rooms...

We have stayed at Hotel de Fleurie several times. This time, my college-age daughter and I came together. This hotel is very clean. The staff is very nice. I think the best thing about the Fleurie is its location. It is on the Left Bank near the Odeon Metro stop off St. Germain des Pres. There are so many great...

The location was ideal. It's in a "happening" part of town and central to everything. You can walk everywhere, take a taxi or the metro. The rooms were clean and quiet but quite small. They also conserve energy so hallway lights only turn on when someone walks onto the floor. To turn your room lights on you must insert your...

I think some of these negative reviewers either were staying in a different hotel or had never been in a hotel in Paris before. The location is perfect, which is why Ralph Lauren opened his flagship store just 3 blocks away. The staff was perfectly friendly and helpful to us especially making dinner reservations. The desk staff all spoke English...

We arrived from the Gare du Nord with a lot of luggage. No one helped us to take bags upstairs or to the store-room (which was not secure), and we had to man-handle them ourselves when we left. Our two interconnecting rooms were too small to unpack the clothes we needed for our two days and three nights in Paris....

Dear Mr Courtenay. We have carefully read your comment and we'll do the necessary to improve our service. On our staff, you may know that our employees are with us since long time and a chief operating officer is present every day to help you possibly in the success of your stay. About the size of rooms: our rooms have...

My partner, sister, and two nieces spent one week at the hotel, and although the location was wonderful--that has little to do with the hotel, per se. The hotel is small, but is in no way intimate. The staff was disinterested--which is strange as it would have taken very little effort to make us feel welcome. Greeting us as we...

I booked a different hotel, somewhat closer to the Louvre, but because of a water leak, the first hotel let us stay in Hotel de Fleurie. The hotel is in an excellent location: near a metro stop, a 10-15 minute walk to Notre Dame and the Louvre and near many restaurants. Our room was not very big, but good enough,...

I recently spent 5 nights at the Hotel de Fleurie. The location is just perfect for exploring St. Germain or any area of Paris as there are 3 or 4 Metro stops quite close by. I was in a single room and my friends had a double. Both rooms were larger than your average Paris 3 star hotel room. The...

This small and friendly hotel is excellently located to explore St German. It is nicely furnished and our room was very clean. We didn't have breakfast but went out each morning; there are plenty of places nearby to eat breakfast. Our room at the front of the hotel was a superior room which had enough space for a rollaway bed...

Have been to Paris for the last 3 years in january, and stayed in 3 different hotels in St G des pres. Overall this is the best one we have stayed in. Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
