This hotel is ideally located in the La Sorbonne/Saint Germain area near the Musee du Moyen Age. Within walking distance of 2 metro stations, Cluny la Sorbonne and St Michel which the RER B stops at. The RER B runs from Charles de Gaulle airport and takes around 35/40 mins. The stay here was with my adult daughter to celebrate...

There are two Mercure hotels very close to each other in this area. This one lies almost on a straight line from Notre Dame, not more than a 5-7 min walk away; so it is not to be confused with the one that is closer to the Luxembourg Gardens. Its proximity to the Latin Quarter, metro, RER and Notre Dame...

This is the second hotel I have stayed at in the Latin Quarter in the last couple of years. The other was 2 star; this one 4 star. But it was only marginally better. The basic problem is the rooms are very small. In fact the bathroom cubicle is hardly a room; and is almost the smallest I have seen...

This was my second stay at this hotel and when I return to Paris it's highly likely I'll chose this hotel again. The reason for this is that the location is hard to beat (lovely neighbourhood, lots of restaurants, close to Notre Dame) and the hotel itself is fine for a short 3 - 4 night stay. Ok the rooms,...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 night it has a great location in Latin District with a couple of subway stops only a short walk away. I was able book a Privilege Room with a double bed you get a few little extras with this, like a Nespresso machine and a docking station for your Apple stuff. No storage...

This hotel has become a home away from home, with the difference that it is central in Paris to all of the left bank and yet right there at Notre Dame to hop over to the right bank, adding to the quiet of its setting next to Cluny, and the dignified charm of its staff!

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us and taking time to write this very kind comment. Like others, I came here mainly for its location, being so close to the crossing of Saint-Michel and Saint-Germain boulevards, and while I would return if I was coming back to Paris, I definitely wouldn't take a single room, no matter what the price difference was. The bathroom was just the smallest thing I've ever been in, maybe 6x6 feet...

I selected this hotel mainly for location and quality. I was expecting more. But, it was fine. The room was small and could have been more comfortable. There were some room renovations going on at the time. No particular amenities, but the neighborhood had plenty to offer. The free wifi was suspect - not convinced it was secure.

We had a short stay in this hotel in April. The receptionist was fantastic when we arrived- she was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The compact reception/bar area should have given us a heads up about what to expect from our room! Yes, the room was very small, perhaps as expected for Paris. We felt that there were a few...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
