Nestled in the heart of Paris, Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris delights guests with its superb location, a stone's throw from top attractions and culinary hotspots. The spacious rooms, complete with handy kitchenettes, are a hit, although they show signs of wear and could use a refresh.
While some guests commend the helpful staff, others recount less pleasant encounters. The hotel's cleanliness and amenities, including on-site laundry, are generally applauded, but the value proposition is contentious, with numerous travelers questioning the pricing relative to the offered experience.

Detailed Reviews
Clean, safe and ideally located. We stayed for 3 nights to explore Paris, mostly the Louvre. The location is perfect, just a 3 minute walk from Pont Neuf and that clearly drives up the cost. The room was entirely adequate, nothing special. The bed and pillows comfortable. We had a room looking into the courtyard, sadly several nights we had to close the window due to the waft of cigarette smoke. No linen service (I assume still due to COVID), but they did have plenty of towels available. The entrance is card controlled (safe) and there was parking under the hotel with direct hotel access (it was pricey as well). The staff was super friendly and very helpful and spoke great English – with no attitude – which is a real plus. It is super convenient to that part of Paris and well within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Paris.

I am always reluctant to review places where expectations were not met. I usually stay silent on social media and report directly to management but we spent so much money on 10 days here and we tried to provide some constructive feedback privately but we were dismissed.
Positives: Location was 10/10, right on the Seine, close to Saint Michel (Metro) and Mabilion (Metro), walking distance to Louvre, Notre Dame, D’Orsay. Great bistros, cafes, galleries and walks nearby.
Room size was pretty good for Paris and kitchenette was well appointed for such a small space. During the week all public areas were clean. Laundry facilities ($) available in house.
The downside was the poor service and lack of attention to detail. This is our fourth visit to Paris and by far the poorest service. Despite trying to speak in French and being very polite it was difficult to get any advice or help. Front counter staff knew little about local attractions (can you recommend a dinner cruise, how do I use the laundry, how would I get a bus to x?) and dismissed us quickly. When we reported a plumbing issue requiring a small amount of maintenance we were simply dismissed as it was a Saturday and no one available. But no one attended to it during the week following either.
Another issue was an disturbing noise which I assume was plumbing related - a screaming sound in the walls followed by thumping that actually vibrated the bed. Fortunately this was only intermittent (this made it hard to report) and maybe only related to certain rooms in our area so not necessarily a problem for all travellers.
The place was unkempt during the weekend. It is a large hotel and a lot of through traffic and activity.
Room for improvement - next time I’d sacrifice the view for service if possible.

We had a great experience for a 5 night Paris stay. Our group had 4 rooms. The smaller rooms were very small but the apartments had just the right amount of amenities. The room was clean and even though some items needed some upgrades everything was functional and clean.
We loved having the espresso/ cafe station in the lobby. Perfect to enjoy while we waited for our party or to warm up after an afternoon out or on the way out.
The location was excellent walking distance to the metro station, many excellent restaurants and tourist attractions- Musée de Orsey, Lourve, River Cruises.
Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

We booked 6 nights (22/11/21 to 28/11/21) WITH BREAKFAST in the name of my husband, Mr Rafael Cabrera Corrêa, through the Brazilian website decolar.com. At check-in, we showed the voucher and the employee requested that an email be sent to stgermain@citadines.com and informed us that everything was fine. To our surprise, at the time of ckeck out (28/11/21 at 7AM) breakfast was charged again, the amount of 128 euros. I showed the voucher to employees who simply said they didn't speak Portuguese (we were speaking in english) and couldn't solve it, forcing us to pay the amount. Despite the excellent location and a good hosting experience, the employees' neglect to solve the problem meant that I never stay at a hotel citadines again.

Dear luanadmorelli, Thank you for your feedback. We read with much concern about the unpleasant experience you encountered during your previous stay with us. According to our system, you have made your reservation through Expedia, therefore we have double checked with them but unfortunately the breakfast was not included in your reservation. We apologize once again for the confusion.

Our booking was transfer from Citadines Les Halles to Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Pres Paris without any notice from our booking system or hotel itself. As soon as we arrived they inform that Les Halles was closed and no transfer offered from their mistake (maybe our booking agent but it was not clear).
Property is located in Senna River in a wonderful area next to shopping and dining area. Citadines are not classic hotels more in a mix between a hotel and apartment. Despite of previous incident we did check in fast and reliable. Hotel lobby is basic but functional with amenities for water, coffee and tea. No proper breakfast available but you could order a petit dejuneur for 7 € that will handle to your room.
Apartment was clean and with good size, good bed area and full kitchen available (furniture, fridge and rest of items well kept). Maybe room seems a little bit dated but not in bad way, functional and simple but clean and sunny. Bathroom area it is ok. Our views are not to Senna River but seems ok.
Front desk people are efficient and well trained. Good for a week in Paris, closed to main attractions and not a bad choice in city centre but it is not a classic hotel therefore no cleaning service every day. We didn’t remove any star by booking incident due to maybe it is not an issue of hotel itself.

Dear Acivipam, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. It is great to have you stay with us. We appreciate your review and the compliments about our service and facilities. We regret to learn that nobody from Citadines les Halles informed you more timely about your reservation with them which was transferred to Citadines Saint Germain-des-Prés. In normal conditions, we offer breakfast service but due to the covid-19 and the sanitary rules which include no people gatherings ; we offer a box as an alternative, this is just temporarily. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the near future.

When we booked our two-week Paris trip, we chose this hotel because the location was outstanding, the rooms have mini kitchens, and there are laundry services on the premises. All of these amenities met our expectations. This hotel is fine, but by no means luxurious. The room we were assigned was showing its age, but it was clean, quite spacious by Paris standards, and had plenty of storage space and a safe. The TV was pretty small and difficult to see detail from the bed. There was one arm chair and one desk chair. The bathroom was adequate. Our room was serviced by housekeeping twice during our stay. But the one negative was the bed. Although it was quite large, it was the most uncomfortable bed we've ever slept on. It was so hard, it was like sleeping on the sidewalk! Maybe okay for one or two nights, but we were aching by the end of our stay.

We stayed in this hotel in 2018 and loved it - the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the breakfast was good value and the location was amazing. When returning to Paris this year, we made the specific decision to stay at the Citadines again, despite the price having increased by almost 50%.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed. We arrived in Paris at 11am and dropped our luggage at the hotel. We were told that our room was empty and would be available prior to the usual check in time of 3pm. We waited until after 4pm and no one was able to explain what the delay was. Several staff members were unhelpful and rude. It eventually became apparent that our room had never been cleaned and we were moved to another room. Another family in the foyer had the same experience.
Our room had satisfactory amenities but everything was dirty, old and worn. None of the floors had been vacuumed and there was dust everywhere. There were holes in the bathroom floor and much of the room required a basic upgrade and maintenance. The beds were rock hard and we had sore backs every morning.
Obviously, the location was still amazing and all of the major sights and public transport were readily accessible. There are also lots of restaurants and shops just down Rue Dauphine. However, we would be unlikely to pay so much money for an apartment in such poor condition and such a difficult check in process again.

We enjoyed a three night stay in a 7th floor apartment with Seine view. The hotel is in an excellent location close to many Paris attractions and with Metro stations located nearby. There are cafes, restaurants and a supermarket in the surrounding streets. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook a meal. Although the apartment was small, the layout was such that the door to the lounge room (with sofa bed) could be shut, as could the bedroom door, with the bathroom accessed from the hallway so you didn't need to disturb anyone's sleep to access it. The sofa bed was separated into two single fold out beds, so you could leave one half of the sofa bed closed to be used as seating. The laundry room in the basement was convenient and is managed using the WeWash app. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Citadines St Germain des Pres Paris.

The htl is well located but the cleaning service does not exist, although it is an apart hotel, do not clean unless you order and pay 35€ per day. Which is absurd. The room for three people has a good size but is not careful. The curtains are dropped, there is no view, the blackout is a joke because it is all devastated, we stayed in room 1211 on the second floor. The attendant Dionísio did not warn that we would have to request daily cleaning and pay. Then he made a separate charge and locked our room keys so we could pass through the front desk to pay for the early cleaning. Another absurdity. It's expensive for what it offers.

We stayed for a week at the Citadines hotel. My wife wanted to give the hotel a 4 star rating and I wanted 3½ stars, so I gave them 3 stars, mainly because of the following. 1. The furniture is Salvation Army. 2. The place is run down and is badly in need of updating. The carpeting in the hallways is all stained. The chair arm was broken 3. There were some annoying details in the room, like the fact that the wall was slanted by the corner of the king bed, so I had to climb over the mattress to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. d, so I called the front desk. I was told that they would put a foam liner on the bed and go out and buy me a feather pillow. And they did exactly that, much to the their credit. The foam liner and the feather pillow made a big difference.
The location is right on the Seine, in the 6th arrondisement, one of the nicest in my opinion. It's centrally located to most everything.
We had an apartment with doors, so our grandson had his own room. The room has a kitchen, which is good if you want to eat in the room, which we didn't.

We always encourage our residents to bring their concern to the Duty Manager at the time when the issue arises. The purpose is to ensure that his concerns are addressed promptly with the objective of making his stay with us a pleasant one. In this instance, the management of the property was unaware of the incident and is very sorry to learn that you were left with an unpleasant experience.
