Just spent four nights at the Grand Hotel de Champaigne and it was just great. The staff was beyond helpful. No matter how many questions we asked regarding transportation and restaurants, they always made sure it was answered. Even calling for us if necessary. The room itself was cozy, well decorated and a true bargain in the area. We also...

The location was ideal.every nite we would walk for hours thru the marais, notre dame ,along the seine, everywhere. the weather held up and some rain never stopped us,especially when we finally learned to navigate the metro.Just a hint: when boarding the metro, especially if very crowded, make sure your spouse makes it on...

We stayed here for 5 nights. Rooms are typically small for Paris, but clean and nice. Bathroom size was also ok. We choose this hotel because of it´s location in the heart of the city. Very short walking distance to the Seine river, Cité island (Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, Conciergerie, Point Neuf), Louvre museum, Pompidou Center and the Latin Quarter. Very...

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
