As others have said, this hotel is in an excellent position. Along the road from smart restaurants eg cafe de la paix or local bistros. Handy for shops + attractions and the tourist bus which has an office and starting point round the corner. The concierge at the hotel was very helpful in advising us, which bus to take. Bed...

The position of this hotel speaks for itself. Perhaps the rooms are a tad small but that is what you get in Haussmann buildings. What stood out for us were the friendly and helpful staff. This was true for all who we dealt with and it made a real difference to our stay. Breakfast were good and plenty of choice.

With its central location, this hotel proved to be a great base for several days in Paris. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and included a top-notch Sofitel bed, bathroom with bath and shower, and separate toilet. Window glazing makes for a quiet stay. Besides the restaurant, meals can also be eaten in the bar area, which adjoins the...

We stayed here with a tour group for 5 days. The staff was very courteous and helpful. We were here to see Paris so didn't spend much time at the hotel. We looked forward to a great breakfast buffet to get us started for the day. Unfortunately, the buffet was the worst I have had in 6 hotels I have...

We were going to a conference in Toulouse, and decided on a few days in Paris before. So we arrived at Hotel Scribe at about 10:00 a.m. on a Wednesday morning, following the overnight flight. Although they could not get us in our room right away (they had been full the night before), they offered to hold our luggage for...

I stayed at the Scribe this past week and could not have asked for more. I am a travel agent and I had a number of clients traveling with me. To say that we were pleased is an understatement. Various items to rate: 1. Service---Exceptional. I've rarely encountered more caring or involved staff....from the concierge (I was involved with them...

My husband I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. The hotel is in a good location in the Opera area and is a good base to explore the city from as the metro station is only a short walk away. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating, especially the concierge Linda who managed to book us a last...

Being our 1st trip to Paris we valued a distinctive property that would deliver Parisienne charm and offer proximity to local shopping, amenities and attractions. Our 3rd floor (#369) room was tucked nicely into the alcove of the hall and offerred a quaint courtyard view with minimal noise. Classic furnishings with sufficient storage throughout the room and Hermés toilletries in...

Do not leave anything of value in your room. Use the safe at all times. In the morning I took out my outfit I was going to Moulin Rouge and left it on a coat hanger by the door. I hung my necklace,. a pendant of marquise with a black onyx in the centre, on a oxidised chain over the...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
