We stayed here for a week recently. It is a nice enough hotel in keeping with its 3-star rating and very reasonable price. It is very nicely situated, away from the Center, but still in a very nice neighborhood with almost too many choices of restaurants. It is also very convenient to the Metro and many buses, so we managed... More

Within walking distance to one of the main attractions in Paris, the Eiffel Tower, this hotel is in a nice location. Easy access to the hop on and off bus tours throughout Paris. The rooms are adequate, but are a bit pricey for what they are. The hotel is a bit dated, offers a restaurant with great coffee and pretty... More

This hotel is located just outside of Pigalle and has easy access to the Metro a block away. It is a 20 minute walk directly south to the city centre (Galeries Lafayette & Printemps dept stores). Of course it is within walking distance of Sacre Coeur but not really next to it as the name might suggest. Sister hotel Ibis... More

We had a room on the third floor overlooking the street. There was no street noise, great room, comfortable king sized bed. Great shower. The entrance to the hotel is not impressive, but as soon as you enter the lobby you know you have found a good place. You are steps away from Metro and bus. The Moulin Rouge is just... More

Nice hotel, basic but nice and couldn't ask for anything more for the price we paid. Cocktail bar was lovely in the summer. Perfect if your seeing Moulin Rouge (which we did.. it was AMAZING!) but the metro is easy to use to get into central Paris. Open top bus is another must-do, easiest way of seeing everything!!

At the time I booked at Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacre Coeur, I didn't realize the close proximity to Gard du Nord. Coming to Paris, I had taken the train across the channel from London. So that was a plus. The young lady, who handled my checkin, was very nice and helpful. Room was nice and clean. Contemporary.

Nice hotel very friendly and helpful check in staff. Rooms were lovely, clean, and big, on the higher floors and in certain rooms apparently you can see the Eiffel Tower but we didn't upgrade to this type of room. Very close to the metro and moulin rouge and yes the area does have a lot of sex shops and live... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
