We stayed here in May 2010. Our trip had been a very eventful one over 5 weeks and Paris was our last stop so our expectations were high. We weren't disappointed with this gorgeous hotel. Our room was great - reasonable size for Paris, comfortable beds & sheets, clean bathroom, and lovely little bathroom soap/ shampoo/ moisturisers! Location was quite...

We had a nice room over the street, with a comfortable bed, windows that opened, and a good bathroom. However, at one end of the room where one would expect to find a couple of reading chairs (as shown on the web site), there was a narrow bed. A couple of throw cushions suggested it could also be used as...

What I love about this hotel is that its located in the middle of Parisian daily lives. School kids, working people and family pass by this area. I can get a glimpse of their culture. Room decorations are chic. Simple and clean hotel. Nothing too fancy service, just simple. Locations are good too, easy access everywhere. Restaurant, metro, shops nearby....

We stayed in the Aviatic Saint Germain hotel in the first weekend of may. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is tastefully decorated and the standard roon where we stayed was rather small but also well decorated and clean. In the bathroom was not enough space around the sink te put cosmetics. The shower was very good. The breakfast...

My wife and I spent four days here the last week in May. The hotel is great. The room was spotless and looked as if it was recently remodeled. Very clean !!!! While the room was on the small size (compared to US hotels), it was perfect for us. Also, it had two nice large windows that opened to the...

My husband & I stayed here for 1 week in May 2011. We chose it based on other reviews and were not disappointed. The location couldn't be better. We had access within steps of the hotel to all major metro stations (be sure to get your 3 or 5 day metro pass) which we used non stop. There were also...

My partner and I stayed here last week and found everything to be very good. We came very early in the morning and the staff helped us stow away our luggage and showed us where to go and we were on our way. We came back around 1 or 2 and the room was comfortable, not small at all by...

Reasonable hotel that is clean and relatively good value. We had a decent sized room on the top (sixth) floor. The room was big enough for a family of three. The hotel knew that we were traveling with a baby, so gave us a cot (and there was enough room for a cot). The bed was comfortable enough - it...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between Saint Germain des Pres and Montparnasse, the Hotel LOUISON is a chic hotel in the centre of Paris. With nineteenth century furniture, cherry and chestnut tones on the walls, marble floors and a courtyard garden, the Aviatic captures the spirit of the Left Bank in every detail. The hotel was constructed in 1856 to welcome the painters, sculptors and writers who would go on to put the Latin quarter at the very heart of European culture. This cultural heritage is present even in the bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, they generate a feeling of calm and a sensual ambiance. The charming, multilingual staff are always available to provide you with help and advice. They will be happy to offer local insight on art galleries, museums and the area's famous pavement cafes. ... more   less
