My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Danube in a superior room for 3 nights last week and had a wonderful few day in Paris. A company called Concierge de Mode recommended the hotel and we were absolutely delighted. Our room was large by Parisian standards with very good bathroom. The location is amazing and in the years I...

We stayed on the 5th floor at the Hotel Danube, in one of the renovated large rooms facing the street. The hotel is in a very good location, near the Musee d'Orsay. Our room was large and modern, with a very large bathroom. I really liked it, although my wife said she would have preferred one of the smaller rooms...

Last weekend, I was in Paris for three nights attending a friend's wonderful destination birthday. We are all involved with design as architects, historians, designers or museum curators. The Hotel du Danube was our base and the location was absolutely perfect. By the time I made my reservation, only a standard double for single occupancy was available. I normally upgrade...

Dear guest, Thank you for the time you have spent expressing your experience in our hotel and we really regret that your room was not the one you expected during the two first nights. But, as you know, on the second day of your stay despite the fact that we were sold out we did our best and offered you...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in August. It had been recommended by a friend and although it was not cheap it was a delight. The room was tasteful, somewhat spacious, well located to restaurants, Musee d'Orsay, and good shopping in the 7th arrondissement. The service was good and breakfast included in the price.

Colleagues picked this hotel out for a business visit and I'm very glad they did - most of all because we were there during a summer heatwave and I've rarely been more grateful for a hotel being fully air conditioned! The management have clearly put a lot of thought into their hotel, the outside looks lovely and the rooms have...

I have been a client of the Hotel du Danube for more than 40 years and I still love it; however a few minor and needless slips ups in service became annoying. The rooms to the doors are "spring loaded" so when guests leave their rooms the doors often slam. When that happens early in the morning.... hmmm.

I have been coming to Paris annually for the past 20 years and this year, based on the reviews on Tripadvisor I decided to stay at the Danube. Iam fussy about hotels being quiet and I know it Paris it can be a challenge. We booked a contemporary room, which was facing the second interior courtyard (there are two) as...

Charming boutique hotel, rooms are small but well kept. We had a quiet interior room. Excellent location walking distance to many attractions. Many bars, boulangeries and restaurants in the area. Friendly staff. Easy to reach when arriving with RER from the Airport.

My friend and I have stayed in this hotel about 10 times over the years, attracted first by the location and price but returning again and again because they continue to upgrade the hotel. It's now a real bargain with air-con all over the hotel and the new showers. The rooms and beds were always comfortable and the bigger rooms...

Our stay coincided with the New Year's Eve holiday weekend; in Paris, this means that museums/restaurants/stores will all have unpredictable schedules. We were fortunate that Estelle, Francois and Romain cheerfully went out of their way to help us with arrangements. Merci!

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
