I do not understand the rave reviews for this hotel. It is certainly charming but the rooms are quite quite small, a "club double" (the mid-range room) has barely enough room to walk around the bed and no good place to store your luggage. I did love the bed, though, it was very comfortable. The location is fine (it is...

Thanks for tripadvisor, we'd chosen the correct hotel to stay during our little honeymoon trip. This hotel was what we wanted: great location near tube, shops and restaraunts; clean and really boutique room with a window in bathroom (!!), friendly staff, french buns for breakfast. Everything is perfect here. We are definitely looking forward coming back because we loved Paris...

I had a romantic getaway in Paris with my boyfriend and we stayed in this hotel for a few nights. We had a great time. The hotel is really beautifully decorated. Great taste and attention to detail (I absolutely loved the painting in the bedroom). Lovely atmosphere and very nice staff. The location of the hotel is perfect. I would...

I loved this little hotel in Paris. It is located in a quiet street, close to Les Galeries Lafayette. There are only 28 rooms. They are small but very clean, with contemporary decoration. The bed was excellent and the bathroom and shower were very good too. The people at the reception were also very helpful and polite. I highly recommend...

I took my friend to Paris for her 40th birthday and we stayed at Hotel Chaplain Rive Gauche. Our room was clean and the beds extremely comfortable for European standards. The minibar offered a large bottle of Evian, cans of coke, coke light and juice each day, and it was free. The staff understood and spoke English very well. Continental...

This hotel is a gem in a great area! First off, we arrived by train (Subway/Metro) and walked for about 2 minutes to get to the hotel. It is right off the Vavin Metro stop. Once arriving, you will be able to tell this is a small and personal hotel. The lobby is small and entirely managed from the front...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
