This was our second hotel during our stay in paris. Before that we stayed in the 3* hotel near Etoile-Arc du Triumph and without any doubt we liked Hotel Chaplain much more than the first one both as regards the hotel itself and the location. We stayed for two nights in March. Everything was very good, rooms a bit small...

If you are looking for a hotel with great value and excellent location-this is the one. Just 2 blocks from the metro and on a quiet side street. Room service in the evenings is the only thing that I would change to improve.

I stayed in the Chaplain Rive Gauche Hotel in January with my family. It's really a very good hotel, where you can enjoy your trip. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Staff and service are excellent. I'll come back with pleasure in this hotel and will recommand it to my friends.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in mid-February. Everything was fine - we had no problems and no complaints - but I've only given 3 stars because I'm not sure that the hotel is as special as some of the reviews and the high Trip Advisor rating suggests. The 'classic' room we stayed in was spotlessly clean but...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights after looking at reviews on a number of travel sites, TripAdvisor included. We were not disappointed. The hotel's decor is clean, modern and slick. The room was a good size and well presented. Standards of cleanliness were excellent. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The hotel breakfast, although not cheap, was good quality....

Really nice, well located hotel. Clean and well equipped rooms with great contemporary decor. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Although sited off the main road, the hotel is next to 2 restaurants and a very lively Irish bar. We were staying at the hotel over a weekend and because of the smoking laws, people from the restaurants and bars were...

The hotel is on a nicely quiet street, only steps away from the metro (Vavin), and within easy walking distance of Montparnasse restaurants and pubs. The room (nr. 52) was as small as you may expect in Paris, but in excellent condition. All furniture was new, and the bathroom was of modern design and of fine quality. Everything was very...

An excellent hotel, well placed for local eating places and for the Metro - it is about a minute from the Vavin Metro station. As mentioned by others the rooms are fairly small, but attractively decorated and well thought out. Would definitely stay here again. Tip: Try Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, just around the corner past the Vavin Metro, for...

This is a great small hotel in the 14th, just around the corner trom the Vavin metro stop. Easy access to and from CDG on the RER. You couldn't ask for better. The room I stayed in was small but extremely well furnished so you could work, rest, or have something to drink from the minibar. The breakfast is nice...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
