I treated my mum to a weekend in Paris and searched high and low for the perfect place to stay. Hotel Joyce delivered on all fronts. Funky, artsy, classy, understated perfection. We loved this hotel from the moment we stepped in and were greeted by Joel! So pleasant, as were all the staff who sat on reception. The room was...

It was perfect and the hotel is part of a branch that has 7 other hotels which are spread all around Paris and you can have free non alcoholic drinks and snacks from 12-4am which is ideal! the staff was very helpful and nice and the decoration is super cute and french-chic! We will repeat for sure!

I highly recommend this hotel! The service is excellent and the staff is very helpful. Upon arrival, Douglas (front desk staff) walked me through a map of Paris and made lots of good recommendations about getting around. Location is wonderful. There's a wonderful cafe on the block (Bo Man Cafe) that I went to most nights for a glass of...

From the start of our mini break right to the end we had first class service from this hotel. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. We got to Paris early morning and although we couldn't book into our rooms until early afternoon they were able to store and lock our luggage away while...

We wanted to stay in the 9th arrondissement and we came across this hotel with an open bat. This was a fresh concept and we decided to stay here since it was close to the Montmarte area as well as walking distance to L'opera. Its close to 4 metro stations so you can very well reach here by train but...

We had a great time at Hotel Joyce-Astotel: First of all the people from reception to breakfast area and housekeeping were really polite and friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and large for Paris standard with really comfortable bed. Bathtub was a plus. Free soft drinks in the room! (Room 502) Breakfast was good and we did like...

We stayed for three nights, the rooms were clean and comfortable. A bit small but i guess that is how rooms in Paris are. Loved the breakfast and the open bar, very tasty brownies there. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful ! Top marks to them for making us feel welcome. I highly recommend this hotel !

We really enjoyed our stay at the Joyce Hotel. Lovely, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly. We are big fans of the breakfast and the 'open bar' concept! Looking forward to stay at another Astotel Hotel.

I was referred to this hotel by a friend who had stayed there previously and although I was debating between hotel Joyce and one of the sister properties ( 123 Sebastopol) I ended up choosing Hotel Joyce because it was more convenient and it would save us some $$$$ and I am soooo glad I did. We took a mother...

I can't praise this hotel enough. Every staff member from the front desk to the breakfast staff were incredibly sweet, attentive, and ready to help in any way. Breakfast was included since we booked our reservation in advance - and it was delicious! The hotel is walking distance from two very useful metro stations and located on a quiet street...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at an unconventional spot of the upper 9th district, the Joyce Hotel is ideally located at the crossroads of the theater district, Place St-Georges, and the "hot-spots" of the fashionable South-Pigalle neighborhood. Maliciously decorated by Philippe Maidenberg, with nods to inevitable Parisian monuments, our hotel will seduce you with its comfort and bold design. Luxury car furniture recycled as improvised seats, inverted Eiffel Tower, delicate tromple-l'oeil paintings around beds, breakfast with bio breads and cereals under a very Eiffel-like glass roof: Everything is ready to usher you into a fun and surprising world. Our 44 rooms are full of thoughtful and delicate touches that add to the cosiness of the place. All rooms feature a quiet atmosphere, strengthened in some cases with a terrace or an enchanting view over the rooftops. Our team, available 24/24, will welcome you into a chic and relaxing atmosphere, while advising you on the top attractions of a perfect stay Find design rooms filled with art works and indulge in a burst of merriment and fresh air in the capital ... ... more   less
