This B & B is superbly located: 5 blocks from the magnificent cathedral and 1 block from restaurants. But the specialness comes from Jacques and Mich, the innkeepers. Not much English, but much sweetness. A wonderful, memorable choice.

My son and I chose Bourges as a stopover en route by train from London to the Loire Valley (Saumur) partly on the strength of the reviews for Coeur de Bourges. We were not disappointed! Jacques and Micheline's genuine warmth and attention to detail made our two-night stay a joy. From the moment of arrival when they provided suggestions for...

Like other maison d'hotes in small towns, Couer de Bourges was found behind a non descript door on back street very near the Cathedral. Charming & warm hoteliers M/M Boudet speak very little English, so it's preferable if you can "get by" with a little French. (Practicing our french made our experience much more fun.) The Boudin's are a very...

Everything written about hosts Jacques and Micheline is absolutely true. They are gracious, friendly, and completely charming. My husband and I are so grateful for their warm welcome and for the efforts they took to make us comfortable during the recent heat wave. Our quiet and cool room was perfect! The beautiful house, with its pretty and private courtyard, is...

While there was a slight language barrier while attempting to book this hotel (owners didn't speak much English, we didn't speak much French), with the help of Google Translate, we were able to make our reservation and I am so happy I didn't let the language barrier and a few more clicks on the computer sway me away from this...

If you want a REAL French holiday, this is the place for you. We arrived through a maze of increasingly narrow streets into the medieval heart of Bourges almost in the shadow of the world heritage listed cathedral. There we were met by Jacques and Micheline and were ushered into a little bit of French paradise. The accommodation is within...

If you go to Bourges, stay in this house. If you go to the Loire, make sure you visit Bourges so you can stay in this house. In fact, plan your holiday around a visit to Bourges so you can stay with Jacques and Micheline. Really. This is the most divine chamber d’hotes, with a wonderful and welcoming, kind and...

We arrive late and they welcomed us with a smile and then recommended a good place to eat. We enjoyed breakfast and the conversation with Micheline and Jacques the next morning before we left. Would gladly stay there again

Wonderfully hospitable hosts. We just stopped overnight between Sarlat and paris but would return again. The location was terrific and the room was huge. We had the room over the street so there ws a little noise as the street is cobblestoned. We speak little French so there ws a slight barrier but it was easily overcome by the graciousness...

We had been travelling for 3 weeks when we arrived here. We were treated like family by Micheline and Jacques and it was just what we needed. The home, garden courtyard, and location were all great. The accommodation cannot be faulted. Although we had a language difference it was never a problem. We were invited to drinks with the extended family who...

“we chose Hanna, which was large, with a double bed and decorated in lavender and had an excellent shower room. it overlooked the courtyard. but to be honest, we could have stayed happily in Alice and only turned down Aude because it was made up as two beds - we prefer a double bed. any room in this house would be fab.”
