Hotel Des Ducs is highly regarded for its prime location, allowing guests to easily explore nearby attractions on foot. The rooms, celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, are equipped with modern amenities, although some guests missed certain conveniences such as in-room phones. While the hotel's atmosphere is frequently praised for its charm and the staff is acknowledged for their friendliness, a few travelers have noted additional charges for services like parking. Overall, the hotel is considered to provide good value for its offerings.

For the second or third visit, the Hotel des Ducs in Dijon was again a friendly and comfortable experience. Although only rated 3 star - I suppose because it doesn't have a gym or a swimming pool or a big dining room - it's as good or better than most 4-star hotels in French regional cities. It's about as close to the centre of Dijon as one could get, but there is usually free parking in the adjoining streets. The staff are obliging and knowledgeable. The price is not outrageous for the size, comfort and facilities of its guest rooms. The rooms overlooking roads are well-insulated and dark enough to sleep well, on their large, comfortable beds. The bathroom was roomy, light and had a good shower. There was an electric kettle with free coffee and tea. The free wifi was excellent. There was a free safe, a small fridge to keep your own drinks in if you so chose, and the wall-mounted TV offered a few English-language channels.
I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in the St Varen apartment. Everything was stupendous. New, equipped with all the necessary crockery, electric shutters that ensure darkness for rest, two rooms (one for us and one for the boys) well separated with beds with super mattresses and pillows comfortable.
Even duvet, sheets and towels (plentiful), spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The very clean apartment also has a dishwasher and washing machine.
In the hotel lobby you could use board games that were much appreciated by children.
Very well soundproofed
Very very large spaces
Absolutely central and convenient location
Garage available for a fee
Overall we loved everything
Very very recommended

I spent three nights at the hotel as a solo traveller. Overall, it was a good stay. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially at reception.

My room was very clean, on the 2nd floor near the elevator (which I didn't hear at all) and with big French doors opening out onto the street. It was very was spacious and well appointed, with decent, but basic amenities, a safe and a comfortable bed. It had everything I needed for a short stay.

I had breakfast once in the very bright and bustling breakfast room and it's reasonable value for the money (14€ from memory). I discovered a lovely boulangerie around the corner and I'm always up for grabbing a coffee and croissant from somewhere local instead of eating at the hotel.

Both the up and down side for me was the location. Wonderfully central, right across from the Musée des Beaux-Arts and some reasonably decent places to eat.

But that fabulous central location also meant it was busy and the street noise made it virtually impossible to keep those wonderful French doors open at all. When they were closed, it was quiet, but I guess that's what you get from staying in the thick of things. I must also say I'm highly noise sensitive, so this may not bother other people.

Tourist tip: there's a great little free bus that runs around Dijon and departs just a few steps away from the hotel. Make sure you look it up - DiviaMobilités. It's great and I saved myself an Uber fare by catching it to the stop closest to the train station the day I left. I learned about the bus from the hotel reception staff, so that was good.

Overall, Hotel Des Ducs is good value for money. It's central, clean and a good option if you're not bothered by street noise, or happy to just shut it out.

My husband and I spent 3 nights in the Pommard apartment and couldn’t have been more pleased. We arranged for a parking spot in their garage in advance, and while the spots are tight, it was very helpful having a secure parking spot, especially since we were obliged to leave our luggage in our vehicle since we arrived early after driving down from Reims. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of the major attractions. We also spent a day exploring the Route des Grands Crus and it makes a good base for that (just be sure to have a designated driver if you sample the wines). The apartment was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed, including a washer/dryer combo machine, which was very helpful. We had a lovely patio and views of the city and L’Eglise St. Michel. We decided to have breakfast in the hotel, and it was good. We especially liked the kind gentlemen who happened to be on duty at that hour on the days we were there, though everyone was helpful and pleasant to deal with. The breakfast room was bright and modern. We felt that the hotel provided exceptional value for the price and would gladly stay there again.

Location: in the old town, close to many good Michelin restaurants. Parking on the street is actually easy, but need to figure out how to use the streetside prepay meter.
The apartment: stayed in Saint Veran with 2 bedrooms. Living room had no outside window, but we hanged mostly in the huge open kitchen dining room (with window). The kitchen has all necessary pots and pans and dishwasher. Beds were comfy. Toilet had a washer-dryer inside, and showering amenities also of very good quality. The only problem is that the wooden floor squeaked quite a bit in the kitchen area.
Staff is very friendly.

We stayed at the Hotel des Ducs for two nights in June 2022. We had a room in the annex which is a 5 minute walk from the main hotel where reception is located and where breakfast is served in the morning. Initially we were disappointed not to be in the main building but when we viewed our room and found that it was located only a short distance from the main hotel and just off the beautiful main square where the Palais des Ducs is, we were delighted.
The room was modern, newly renovated with wood floors, ample space, A/C, a queen bed with a nice firm mattress, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. A coffee maker and coffee were provided. Everything was very clean. Breakfast (not included in our room price but well worth the 12 euros pp) was served buffet style in a lovely glassed-in terrace. It included eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, coffee/tea and delicious fresh baked goods.
For other meals there were lots of restaurants close by and the hotel is well located right in the centre of all the sites you want to see when you visit Dijon.
Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating and spoke good English. An elevator is provided.
I would highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel des Ducs is a small, wonderful hotel in the heart of the historic old town. The building is historic but the interior furnishing are contemporary and very tasteful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was on the second floor and had a small balcony which provided an airy "connection" to to the old town. I can't think of a better hotel in which to stay in Dijon.

An excellent surprise at this hotel located in the heart of the historic center of Dijon.
Located a short distance from the Notre Church and the St-Michel church, this hotel has the advantage of being close to all the centers of interest for lovers of history or more simply shopping. It should be noted that the establishment has rooms, but also suites located in another building. Having booked late, we took the suite located next to the Place de la Libération and were able to appreciate its calm and comfort.
Excellent continental breakfast served as a buffet at the hotel itself.
The staff were also very pleasant and courteous while always remaining open to conversation to offer us dining suggestions or advice.
The icing on the cake is that the establishment has several Escape Rooms to try as a group or family. An address to recommend with good value for money.

Hotel is in the old part of town and within walking distance of restaurants. We arrived on a Sunday and there was free street parking although spaces were tight. There was no chance of stopping in front of the hotel. The room was small for a superior double and drab with a view of a side street. This is a personal preference but I dont understand why hotels keep thick heavy duvets in summer as sleep is nigh impossible when it is hot. There was aircon fortunately as having the window open would have been too noisy. The breakfast was buffet style and very nice
