I highly recommend this hotel.
Even duvet, sheets and towels (plentiful), spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The very clean apartment also has a dishwasher and washing machine.
In the hotel lobby you could use board games that were much appreciated by children.
Very well soundproofed
Very very large spaces
Absolutely central and convenient location
Garage available for a fee
Overall we loved everything
Very very recommended
My room was very clean, on the 2nd floor near the elevator (which I didn't hear at all) and with big French doors opening out onto the street. It was very was spacious and well appointed, with decent, but basic amenities, a safe and a comfortable bed. It had everything I needed for a short stay.
I had breakfast once in the very bright and bustling breakfast room and it's reasonable value for the money (14€ from memory). I discovered a lovely boulangerie around the corner and I'm always up for grabbing a coffee and croissant from somewhere local instead of eating at the hotel.
Both the up and down side for me was the location. Wonderfully central, right across from the Musée des Beaux-Arts and some reasonably decent places to eat.
But that fabulous central location also meant it was busy and the street noise made it virtually impossible to keep those wonderful French doors open at all. When they were closed, it was quiet, but I guess that's what you get from staying in the thick of things. I must also say I'm highly noise sensitive, so this may not bother other people.
Tourist tip: there's a great little free bus that runs around Dijon and departs just a few steps away from the hotel. Make sure you look it up - DiviaMobilités. It's great and I saved myself an Uber fare by catching it to the stop closest to the train station the day I left. I learned about the bus from the hotel reception staff, so that was good.
Overall, Hotel Des Ducs is good value for money. It's central, clean and a good option if you're not bothered by street noise, or happy to just shut it out.
The apartment: stayed in Saint Veran with 2 bedrooms. Living room had no outside window, but we hanged mostly in the huge open kitchen dining room (with window). The kitchen has all necessary pots and pans and dishwasher. Beds were comfy. Toilet had a washer-dryer inside, and showering amenities also of very good quality. The only problem is that the wooden floor squeaked quite a bit in the kitchen area.
Staff is very friendly.
The room was modern, newly renovated with wood floors, ample space, A/C, a queen bed with a nice firm mattress, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower. A coffee maker and coffee were provided. Everything was very clean. Breakfast (not included in our room price but well worth the 12 euros pp) was served buffet style in a lovely glassed-in terrace. It included eggs, bacon, sausages, cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, coffee/tea and delicious fresh baked goods.
For other meals there were lots of restaurants close by and the hotel is well located right in the centre of all the sites you want to see when you visit Dijon.
Staff were friendly, efficient and accommodating and spoke good English. An elevator is provided.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
Located a short distance from the Notre Church and the St-Michel church, this hotel has the advantage of being close to all the centers of interest for lovers of history or more simply shopping. It should be noted that the establishment has rooms, but also suites located in another building. Having booked late, we took the suite located next to the Place de la Libération and were able to appreciate its calm and comfort.
Excellent continental breakfast served as a buffet at the hotel itself.
The staff were also very pleasant and courteous while always remaining open to conversation to offer us dining suggestions or advice.
The icing on the cake is that the establishment has several Escape Rooms to try as a group or family. An address to recommend with good value for money.
