Detailed Reviews
My partner and I had a Superior double room. It was quite large with a sitting area. The bed was comfortable and the room was really quiet (as requested). The only thing that let is down was that the shower room stank of tobacco. I called reception to let them know and within minutes they were there with a machine that purified the air. We just had to leave the room for 15 minutes which was perfectly acceptable.
The location was perfect to visit the old town of Dijon and is close to the train station.
We had a few drinks in the bar area and the decor of the entire hotel is superb. Breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The Mgallery Grand Hotel La Cloche & Spa is a really nice place to stay.
We stayed there for 2 nights. We were welcomed by a professional receptionist.
We booked for a Superior room which is nice decorated and modern. Our room had a nice balcony with a beautiful view of place Darcy and its garden which is still very quiet because of the double window. The nice room and the bathroom were very clean. It is well arranged modern and classy. The only negative point is that some furnitures were a little damaged by time wear.
The breakfast is complete and tasty. Waiters are very effective and smiling.
We had a diner at the hotel’s restaurant which here again, is a nice place. The value for money is pretty good as the food was very tasty. The staff was also very effective and welcoming.
We enjoyed the modern and trendy bar of the hotel which propose a large choice of food and drinks. The 3 persons of the staff who where working on Saturday night (October 17th) were very professional, smiling, friendly and offers real 5-star service. Thanks to them, sorry I didn’t get their names.
Also, we booked for free for 45 minutes at the hotel spa which contains a countercurrent swimming pool, a multisensory experience shower and a sauna which are enjoyable. It is a very nice place because of the the old stone vaults.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been told when we booked for it, that the reservation of the spa didn’t mean we would be on our own in it. So we were a bit disappointed when someone else came into the sauna with us as it’s a small area (where you don’t wear a mask and can’t have social distancing for covid) and as we were expected to be completely alone there for 45 minutes.
We had a massage which was very well done and pleasant. A truly relaxing moment, thanks to the two ladies who were very welcoming, smiling, professional.
During our stayover, the room was perfectly and fastly done so thanks to the maids.
Finally we would say that the Grand Hotel La Cloche is a very nice place to stay, ideally located in the center of Dijon, welcoming and classy where everyone is always ready to help.
It was a nice getaway.

First of all great welcome by receptionist.
Beautiful building, and outside garden. Room was comfortable, clean but decoration could be improved, tiles in bathroom cheap, shower pressure average, and filer in shower tray visible. Strange definitely not 5 star.
Restaurant : cocktails average, too much sugar, little alcohol but excellent prestation.
Vitamin juice was delicious .
Food was good, service top, staff friendly.
Overall good evening.
Spa: once again not 5 star.
Was told 45 minutes, was in the end 30 minutes for body massage! 85 euros!
No chat beforehand , just one question - the intensity required. No questions regarding allergies, pregnancy or other normal spa questions, or no questionnaires
Welcome was cold, felt rushed, perhaps too many bookings? Based in the basement, felt too enclosed, decor basic, but clean and comfortable bed. Would not return to Spa.

My husband and I chose the Grand Hotel La Cloche as a special place to spend two nights for our wedding anniversary while traveling in Burgundy. Unfortunately it fell way short of our expectations. We noted our special occasion in our reservation, and there was no mention of it, let alone a friendly welcome, while checking in (checked in around 6pm on Tuesday 28 September). That’s fine, but we later asked for a champagne bucket for a celebratory bottle we purchased and the woman at reception said it would be sent to the room. It never came.
The bar is advertised as closing at midnight but closed early both nights despite still having interested customers. We went next door to the bar at the Hotel Vertigo and had a delicious drink and friendly welcome.
Upon checking out, we learned that our room rate included breakfast, which was not what we were told at check in. While checking in I had asked if breakfast was included or how much it cost and was told 23€/person. We did not think that was worth it on top of the room cost so skipped the breakfast buffet. We were disappointed to not be able to try the breakfast that should have been included with our stay.
A couple of bright spots: the spa was a pleasant experience, and the woman working late on Wednesday night went out of her way to find us espresso pods for the next morning.
The hotel is in a good location, in a beautiful building, and the lobby/bar area is nice, but we would not recommend it if you’re hoping for a 5 star hotel that will help enhance a special occasion. We are hoping our next 5* hotel will be a 5* experience.

The building is mostly nice, the location is great, the service is poor.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel or two nights on our wedding anniversary, and noted this occasion on our reservation. At check-in we did not even receive as much as a cursory "happy anniversary" acknowledgement, and when we later purchased a bottle of champagne and asked for an ice bucket to keep it cool, they told us that they would send one to our room but it never arrived. I do not expect hotels to bend over backwards to celebrate our anniversary, but this was beyond poor. If you are looking for a place that will make your stay special, look elsewhere.
Also, at check-in we were told that breakfast was not included with our room and would cost 23 euro/person. We chose not to eat the breakfast at this overcharged rate, however on checkout we were presented with a bill for the rate with breakfast included. We raised this to their attention and essentially received a "too bad, the person at check-in was wrong but we're not going to do anything to correct it now" response.
Finally, do not plan to go to the hotel bar after 11, because they will abruptly close it early without explanation.
Dijon is a lovely city and worth visiting; we recommend staying somewhere else when you do.

We were so looking forward to staying at this well know Dijon hotel. However, what a disappointment it turned out to be. It started off badly. We went to check in. The person checking us in was one of these type that thought he was more important than the guests. I’m sure you’ve seen that type before! The 1st thing he said was the restaurant was fully booked that night. Then he attempted to scan our Covid Certificates and to.d us they were not working. I explained that they worked everywhere else so maybe it was his scanner that was at fault. Anyway he did,in the end accept them but made us feel like we were at fault. They had scanned perfectly everywhere else and the scanned everywhere else we went after that. So,this guy made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. So we finally got to our room. The room was in poor condition, had not been refurbished in years. The carpet was dirty and frayed, the toilet had not been cleaned properly. The room was old fashioned and was a big disappointment. As I said already the restaurant was full (even to guests) so we never had dinner there but we did have breakfast. Another disappointment. A holel of that quality should offer guests a cooked breakfast instead of a buffet breakfast consisting of cold congealed scrambled eggs and very poor quality cold beans, mushrooms and bacon. Anyway, to conclude, Dijon is a great city, fantastic sights and generally lovely people but the Grand Hotel May have been “Grand” one day, but it certainly isn’t now.

In general the experience was average. The entrance of the hotel is not well indicated. Nobody at the door to help you with your luggage. The room was damp and despite the fact that the hotel was far from being full we were put on a room on the street side just on top of the kitchen (thank you for the nice smell). Poor and expensive breakfast.
I undesertand it’s Covid but it doesn’t mean that you should pay for a 5 stars to get a three stars.

The hotel was representative of the pictures and a good location however that is as far as it goes. We met up with friends and had 4 rooms and 6 adults. We met in the bar and were spending money on Champagne and so forth and the other party had spent 9 hours driving and we had spent 3 so we decided to eat at the hotel. However, on asking the bar staff they checked and said the restaurant was full to which we summoned the manager who reconfirmed that the restaurant is full to which we asked and what should we do which was not his problem. We then said ok we will stay and just eat in the bar then but was informed that they do not do bar food and the chef would also not support restaurant food in the bar. so that was it we spent over Euro 2,000 on rooms and drink and was told we cannot eat at the hotel. There was no function either at the hotel so if you stay just remember you may not be able to eat at the hotel.

Dear Maps56068, First of all, I would like to thank you for sharing your feelings after your stay at the Grand Hôtel La Cloche Dijon - MGallery Hôtel Collection. I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations, and please accept our apologies. Following your comment, and our exchange, first of all I listened you and I have proposed our solutions, I never said that this was not my problem both in my words and our proposed solutions . Our possibilities did not meet your expectations but we had several proposals at your request. As soon as you made your reservation in our hotel, we first sent you an introductory letter for your stay recommending that you should book a table for the restaurant before your arrival. At your request after knowing that the restaurant was full, we found you a restaurant right next to the hotel, but you could not access for reasons you know. For the bar we offer a snack menu, different of course like all the different establishments from the restaurant menu. This menu offers tartars, plates of charcuterie and cheese, soup and desserts. This menu may not meet your expectations, but we do offer restaution in our bar. Finally, we also offer an in-room dining menu, which I can understand in your situation did not correspond to your expectation of having dinner with your friends. Satisfaction of our customers is constantly at the center of our priorities, and again we are sincerely sorry that you could not have all the satisfactions following your expectations. But we informed you with recommendations before your arrival and offered solutions and our help during your stay, proving that we were concerned and involved in your expectations. We remain at your entire disposal and at your disposal. David Vincent Operation manager

We chose this hotel because our barge holiday organisation always collect passengers from this hotel. The hotel provided garage parking for my car during the week we were away on the barge.
Our impressions of this hotel were coloured by our arrival which happened to coincide with a large coach party having arrived moments before us. We had expected a 5 star hotel to be smooth and efficient. It wasn't. We could not park because the coach filled the of loading bay. Instead we tried to park in the garage but it proved too difficult. We returned to the parking bay, wher the coach was still parked and parked our car in the road. The hotel has a large number of steps which we negotiated with some difficulty dragging our cases behind us. On entering the lobby we could not reach reception because of the coach passengers' luggage being spread across the floor. Eventually a way was cleared as a porter was loading luggage to one of the two lifts. Having checked in we were keen to get to our rooms on the first floor but the second lift would not open until the first lift doors closed. This did not happen until the porter filled it with luggage and eventually sent it on its way. This was not the end of the delays as the three of us who could enter the second lift had no idea that the room key was needed to operate the lift until an American guest kindly explained this modern feature which we had not experienced before. In fact we stayed at four other hotels including the McGallery at Metz and none had this feature. The management of the garage is in serious need of improvement. Having had great difficulty in parking my car because of the narrow spaces and wide cars I returned to my car after one week to find a car had parked so close to mine that it was impossible for me to get into my car. The reception staff had no idea who the car belonged to. This is because they take no information about the car registration and space number. They only record a key left with them by the room number occupied but do not know which car it refers to. I have to record that we were helped by the limbo type car valet who was able to get into my car and reverse it out of the space so that we could continue our holiday. Finally we were appalled by the restaurant only having a restricted menu offering just two main dishes. 5 star, you must be joking. For our second Saturday we walked into Dijon centre and had a lovely meal at a small Logis hotel with lots of choice.

Concerning management of our parking , we indeed take the car keys without noting immatriculation, but the keys are classified by parking numbers for the car keys registered at reception and we could easily and quickly find a vehicle of which we have the keys. In other cases, our customers park their cars themselves and do not leave us the car keys and therefore it may happen that we do not actually know the owner of the vehicle. We present our most sincere apologies for the variety of our restaurant menu during your stay, unfortunately we have reduced choices of our restaurant menu during a short period which is now over. It is essential that each guest enjoys a stay of excellence and I wish to express my sincerest apologies if we have not managed to bring this experience to you. If you give us the opportunity to regain your trust, we will be happy to offer you the best that our customers delight in every day. Sincerely, David Vincent Operations Manager

We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights and had an excellent experience. Issak, the valet/bellman met us at our car and helped us with our luggage. Front desk staff was very professional and provided great restaurant recommendations that were within walking distance of the hotel. We also paid for the hotel breakfast which is very convenient because the local coffee shops were not open until 10 am. Our room was extremely comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable with high quality linens. And the air conditioning worked extremely well. If you are driving, the hotel is a bit tricky to find, but eventually your GPS will get you there. All in all, a great experience. And the staff and guests all wore masks.
