Detailed Reviews
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel due to particular circumstances. The room size is big, separate bathroom separate toilets, mini-bar, coffee machine, safe, flat TV and free wifi. The room and the hotel are very clean, parking was free, it has a gastronomic restaurant and private swimming pool. Our room was overlooking the swimming pool. The personnel was very helpful and allowed us to late checking.

We have booked this hotel many times for following reasons: Accessability, garage, good restaurant, renovated rooms with good beds, free breakfast for seniors.
With our last booking for august 22 things went completely wrong.
Receptionist did not know the internet prices. Manager whom we had to call later told us that we had to make the booking via internet, which went wrong because we were not accepted as Accor club members. When we tried to get a new password this was never confirmed. Called again the manager and finally coul get the internet rate but without free breakfast, which we allways got in the past.
Oh yes we could get the senior rate at 160 Euros incl. breakfast, but with the internet rate at just below 110 Euros the free breakfast disappeared. After some more discussions with the manager we decidi to book an other hotel. Shame on Accor.

I thought that by booking directly with Accor, and being a Silver member; we would get a reasonably decent room however we received a room that was tired; smelly (like a public toilet!) and next to a generator room so the constant rumbling was horrendous.
When we complained we were told that they’d received other complaints too but no apology. We had to ask to change rooms at 10pm after a long day driving. Had to pack up all our things and move. The second room was better - it didn’t smell at least! But it had a toilet that continually flushed. The location of the hotel is less than desirable and the staff were rather abrupt and not helpful, apart from the barmaid who was lovely, I asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t on site and wouldn’t be answering his phone.
Very disappointing for a Mecure. One we won’t be staying at again.

Really surprised and disappointed with customer care. We had made a booking for 2 nights through booking.com but we talked to the manager Esther, a very nice lady, who said they would do us a better bed and breakfast rate. We stayed for two nights, twin room, my daughter and I.
This morning we went for breakfast and the director of the hotel said only one person was marked as included in the room bed and breakfast and I could eat but would have to pay. I went to reception but no One was there who was around at check in.
The director didn’t even contemplate the idea that they may have made a mistake and made out that I was trying to have a free breakfast. Surely at least an apology for any misunderstanding would have been a good start.
The hotel is as expected but the restaurant is gourmet so not family friendly and there are very few pool seats and no pool towels or extra room towels so not really 4 star.

Dear guest We thank you for your mail and are sorry for the inconvenience you had during your stay. Upon your arrival you internet booking mentioned one adult but the fact that your daughter stayed with you was not noted. You informed us about her presence at the front desk, but this precision was not detailed to our colleges for breakfast service who assumed that the second person they met was an adult (we did not have your daughter’s age). Moreover, we will but more pool seats for the next season, to prevent incoveniences such as the one you mentioned. We apologize for any misunderstanding and will prevent such kind of inconvenience to happen on further occasions Counting on your understanding

We had a very pleasant stopover at the Mercure Hotel in Dijon. The connecting rooms were perfect for our family, offering a comfortable and convenient space.
The quality of the restaurant meal was also remarkable for this type of establishment, with delicious local produce and attentive service. If I could make a very small improvement, it would be to avoid flies wandering on the cheeses of the cart.:o)
Another highlight of this hotel is its parking, which is certainly for a fee, but very convenient to leave your vehicle loaded with luggage safely.
The staff, both at reception and at the restaurant, were extremely friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We highly recommend this hotel for a stay with family or friends in Dijon.

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and have always found it comfortable and convenient for city centre. The room was great, well sized and the bathroom also spacious. The coffee machine was faulty and no kettle supplied, also the bathroom had no ´products’ only fixed squeezy ´does all’ detergent soap, no bars of soap or shampoo but none of the spoilt our overall enjoyment.
We used the restaurant which was excellent and relaxed.
Usual car park was closed but there was secure parking very close by which is also used bi the Ibis hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. My usual criticism is only one complimentary drink for a couple staying, mean, so we do not normally bother with it.

I have to say that I had Mercury and Mercury.
Here we are far from it.
The establishment is aging.
The shower doesn't drain, the hairdryer doesn't work, no brushes in the toilets (I pity the cleaning staff on a daily basis, you don't help them)
Not a hygiene product (or did the room have to be even higher than the 200 euros price to have one!!?). Traveling in mercury I lighten up by telling myself that I have everything in the bathroom. Failed, I was able to buy everything back for one night.
Because I went down to ask reception if they could help me out with some body cream or lotion but nothing. I even insisted that I could buy some. Nothing. As I leave I notice that Nuxe body milk is sold in the establishment and I see that further away there is a pharmacy and a shopping center (always nice to remember to indicate this to customers)
It was super hot, what a joy a swimming pool was. And actually no. A group of hoodlums flirting vulgarly with hotel guests, doing belly dances to music on a portable speaker, around ten cocktails on the table to their credit... Totally what I don't expect to see in a Mercury. I tell the reception who, with a more than disdainful air, tells me that it's summer, that the swimming pool is open to outsiders until 4 p.m. (these people left around 7 p.m. eh...) and that they can't go around the pool all the time (...) and what's more, it's up to the bar staff to take care of it. In short, it doesn't bother anyone except those who paid 200 bucks a night.
At the bar the fridge doesn't cool anything (great it's 40 degrees) but that doesn't stop the bartender from offering drinks anyway. Drinking a rosé that is not good and lukewarm is special.
The breakfast is ok. Very industrial but correct.
The view from the room of the garbage, we will come back.

Services are limited to an absolute minimum. Allegedly due to corona. This means that you have to carry the waste to the reception. It is not even picked up. You have to order the toilet paper in advance and pick it up as well. But you can't pick up the towels on the way back, because they are not available. That means you go into the room, make a phone call and go back downstairs, pick up the goods and travel back. The same applies to the towels. But you can change rooms after two days. Which is absolutely senseless regarding corona.
The only hotel on our 4-week trip that interprets Corona as saving on personnel and drastically reducing services.
The rooms and the hotel itself are beautiful. Pool is nice too.

Dear shellinmypocket, Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to see that all these restrictions were not appreciated. You know, they are not appreciated by our staff either, that have to wear a mask all day at huge temperature because of the hot weather, or sanitize everything, take the time explain to our guest why we ARE COMPELLED to do this, even if the guests do not want to understand... Now things are getting better, we can have to person at the front desk, which can provide a better service (but still we cannot enter your room. So yes, people have to come down at the reception if they need anything) Best regards

The hotel is centrally located and not far from the motorway network, although there is a ten minute walk into the old part of town. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the extra large beds are really comfortable. We stayed twice this year, once in winter when the temperatures were freezing outside and once this summer on our way back to the UK . In the winter it was fantastic to be in the warm and not to have to walk out to a restaurant as the hotel restaurant is superb. We had a fantastic meal. In the summer we also visited the restaurant. We sat outside in the pretty garden next to the swimming pool and had another really good meal. There are lots of lovely restaurants in town but after a long drive it’s reassuring to know that you don’t have to go out and can find good quality food on site. Unfortunately we arrived a little too late for a swim in the outdoor pool but In the morning I had a leisurely swim before breakfast. I would definitely return to this hotel again when travelling through France but it would also be relaxing to stay longer and explore Dijon as the town is so beautiful. The hotel building itself isn’t very attractive from outside but I love everything that goes on inside and in particular I think they have some great staff working there which makes all the difference no matter how long you stay. I recommended the hotel to my brother who was also travelling through France and he agreed with me that it was a great place to stay.
