'Berggasthaus' means: rather basic accommodation. Which is also the case here. Rather small rooms, spartanic furniture and very thin wooden walls between the rooms. So you hear every normal conversation from the other room. Ablutions and washing facilities are on the floor, rather new, good isolation against the rooms, too small toilets and just cold running water (except for the...

We stayed two nights at this lovely mountain inn and had a great visit. The scenery is magnificent. The hosts are very friendly. The food was plentiful and delicious. The rooms are very comfortable. Sleeping to the sound of the waterfalls is sublime.

A beautiful guesthouse in a stunning valley, hosted by a lovely woman. The food was excellent (dinner and breakfast) and our room was very comfortable. We really liked lying on the bed after a day of running, looking out at the huge waterfalls at the end of the valley.

After a slog uphill from Stechelberg, 2 cold beers and spectacular views were just what we needed. When the wind began to come up on the patio, we moved to our glassed in balcony off our room (Room 6) to continue gazing at the Alps and unwinding. The owner was very gracious and attentive to our needs. Dinner was excellent...

After a strenuous hike up and down from Gimmelwald, it was great to stop at this high mountain inn for a night. We loved the place, but everyone must understand that this is a high mountain hotel, with small rooms, shared bathrooms, a limited menu, and million dollar views. The food was great. We had steak and various different salads...

When arriving at this hotel after a long hike, the owner was wonderful! She asked if anyone wanted drinks and showed us to our room. We were in room 6 which has an amazing view of the Alps! Dinner and breakfast was included which she had made herself and were very good! The only thing I would say is to...

We stayed here in early July in rooms 6 & 7 which both had glassed in balconies over the front of the inn. Everything was spotless and I was charged half instead of the usual full price for the use of a twin room. There is a shower down the hall with wood fired hot water, so advance notice is...

My husband and I plus our two teenagers had a wonderful stay here, and we really can't say enough about it. At first, our reservation was for two nights. Even though we hiked up in a mist (still enjoyable,) the welcome we got from Brigitte and the accommodations made us decide immediately to stay for a third night. We agree...

We loved staying here - the feeling of totally getting away from the hustle and bustle of life is worth the climb up the mountain! We visited with our son and daughter in law. We had two rooms with balconies - the rooms are large and basic but comfortable. The views are just amazing! The experience is fantastic and we...

I agree completely with the previous reviewer's (Lucy 111) comments. This was our fourth stay in twenty five years. Accommodation is basic, a shower is an extra 4 swiss francs and there is a communal wash area and several modern toilets, all spotlessly clean. As the guesthouse generates its own electricity there is just enough light after supper to read...
