Perfectly situated for a short stay, just a skip from the town centre, good service, especially the lady who greeted us, and a good choice of breakfast for Continental. The Saturday market was no bother as the rooms have shutters and air con. Not a cheap town though.

Good location and reasonably quiet. Electric shutters on front facing rooms. The hotel is Ok for a short stay. Hard bed. Shower needed updating. Poolside needs T.L.C. No safe in room or at reception. No fridge or kettle in room. Annoying wi fi arrangement. Room keys not secure at desk and all rooms open whilst being cleaned.

We stayed here for a couple of nights to explore Bergerac, on our way to Brantome. There is not a lot of choice within walking distance of the Old Town, but this fitted the bill perfectly. Delightful owners who try very hard to please, breakfast was fresh and nice, the room was small but clean and had a Juliette balcony...

Bergerac seems not to have any particularly good hotels, which is surprising for such a charming town. The Hotel de France is perfectly OK for a short, reasonably-priced stay. We chose a 'superior' room, which was actually pretty small although it did overlook the pool at the back. The bathroom was truly tiny and the separate loo positively claustrophobic! The...

The hotel did not honor our reservation. We could not find another hotel that night and were forced to sleep in our rental car. We arrived at 9:10 pm on a Friday evening after a 6 hour drive from Paris. Reception was closed and the hotel was locked. We called the hotel. They told us since we didn't arrive by...

Hotel is in a good location for the old town, which is an easy and flat 3 minute walk to the narrow streets and cafes, shops, sights and the river Dordogne. The hotel is overlooking Gambetta square and all rooms at the front have a good size balcony with hanging flower baskets and furniture. The balconies are nice to sit...

Stayed here for a business trip to the area. The location suited my needs perfectly. Wi-fi was pretty erratic, my laptop worked, byt my tablet didn't, so it was a bit frustrating. Breakfast was okay. The room was typically French and old-fashioned decor, and nothing special. Would stay here again, but it needs a bit of modernisation decor-wise. I parked...
