Seen on a Rick Stein TV programme, we visited Maison Fredon for three nights. No-one there on arrival, but fortunately a cleaner arrived and let us in and gave us a key and explained the door code. Good points Nicely proportioned room Fabulous bathroom with fluffy white towels and classy products Fresh squeezed orange juice and good coffee at breakfast...

We know Bordeaux from several previous trips, but were enthused by Rick Stein’s review of the hotel and its sister restaurant just across the street and chose to stay for 3 nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday. A typical Bordeaux 18th century-or older-house with a couple of rooms on each of 3 floors and no lift. The rooms are all...

We where planning a trip to Bordeaux to visit La Tupina which is the restaurant opposite the Hotel. Owned by the same group we had high expectations for the hotel which it did not lived up to. Our room was invested with Mosquitos which seemed odd as it was early Feb - It was so bad on our last night...

We are staying here at the moment. In many ways the hotel is better than our expectations. The location is brilliant. A few metres from the waterfront in one of the most atmospheric parts of Bordeaux. You can pick up a tram just a few hundred metres away which will connect with the entire tram system covering all the key...

Room was spacious, clean and well maintained. But breakfast consisted of a tiny cup of coffee (no refill offered) the SMALLEST croissant I've ever seen and one other bread roll. If they're going to offer breakfast (and include it in the price) they should do it properly! And I resent paying extra for parking and then being told "we can't...

If you are a woman traveling alone, pick anywhere else. Especially if you don't speak perfect French. Yes, the rooms are decorated oddly with worn furnishings; the breakfast is laughably paltry; I'm 6'2" and nearly concussed myself on the sloping ceilings of the green room; but none of the numerous negatives matter because this was just not a safe space...

Mosquitos in the room. The shower was tepid. Stain marks on the carpet. Our room was in the attic with a very low ceiling and no windows with any view, just skylight or back wall. Quirky decor but unless you pay a premium to get one of the better rooms this is a rip off. The breakfast was very poor....

This B&B is owned by the same people who run the restaurant opposite, "La Tupina". The lady owner met us and as we had paid for parking (€10 per day - which we thought was free), she whisked our car off for parking, before we knew what was happening. We didn't know where is was and didn't see it again...

Stayed here for two nights, with my wife, to celebrate our anniversary. BA flight schedules meant we arrived around 0930 and although our room was not ready the staff were both helpful and welcoming. They stored our bags safely, took my mobile number as we went off to explore the city and called us a good hour before official check-in...

We stayed here having seen Rick Stein's wonderful weekend series (as have others I think). It was a beautiful room with wonderful furnishings and an enormous bed. There's a very comfortable recliner, an animal skin on the floor, a big tv and several fairly rude paintings - all very interesting. The a/c worked really well - we certainly needed it...
