This is my hostel of choice. The staff are friendly, the people are good to talk to and it's in an ideal location of Manchester. The reason I voted a three is because it isn't a very clean place and the bedding needs an update. It's also not very quiet until about 2am and unless you have earplugs you may...

I stayed in Hatter’s Manchester hostel just under a month ago. Generally speaking it’s ok. It’s reasonably priced and in a good location. It’s clean, with free breakfast and access to a kitchen (with free tea and coffee!) and there’s also a cool bar attached, which has lots of buzz, especially at the weekend. The hostel is in an old...

I stayed in a female dorm with a friend and the beds were comfortable, the showers were large and hot, the toilets should be checked more often as several times they were unusable because others had clogged them with paper! But all the amenities were really good considering the cost. The breakfast was simple but enough to start the morning,...

We stayed in a nice double room right under the roof with a stunning view over the city. The building is really old and has lots of character (also the bathrooms!) The staff was nice and helpful, breakfast simple but nice because included. Unfortunately it was´t really clean... The neighborhood in the northern quarter is cool and nice to explore.

Me and 3 friends stayed for one night last weekend and we were very disappointed. This hostel is not that cheap at £20pppn and therefore we expected it to at least be clean and have working toilets. One of my friends had 3 pieces of dusty chewing gum stuck to her bed! The rooms were filthy! The staff at reception...

Title says it all really - room and bathrooms were disgusting. Breakfast is poor. The location is pretty good but I'd still never stay here again or recommend it to anyone, unless they were really desperate

Poor standard - shared toilets often left dirty, mattresses uncomfortable, noisy (location is central so perhaps understandable), breakfast included but it's not good (toasters didn't work properly, watery orange juice), showers not much power. Staff unfriendly and not very helpful. People will stay here because it's central and the cheapest option (although I wouldn't say good value). It's a shame...

Location just perfect. Near everywhere, a bit noisy especially in the weekend. Very suitable to those party lovers. Bed and pillow are bit old and to me it is not that comfortable for staying in a long time period.

The location of this hostel is amazing... Right in the Northern Quarter and within walking distance to majority of the sights and attractions of Manchester. But that's where my positives list ends. The rooms are cold and noisy, I feel like no attempt has been made to insulate rooms from weather and noise. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm...

The only good thing about this hostel is the location as it set in the middle of Manchester city centre, other than that this place is a nightmare for people like me who care about privacy, quietness and most importantly CLEANNESS. This is only my second time being in a hostel. The first time I did it in Amsterdam and...
