We've stayed here once but eaten here many times and we always look forward to it. Our last visit was on mothers day March 2017 and the hotel laid on a special menu, free family photos and a free goodie bag for the mums. The service is always great and the bar is one of my favourite places for a...

Hotel very close to Piccadilly train station. It has a relaxed vibe and lovely bed. The staff are welcoming and efficient. Only downside was they give you 'schooners' rather than pints but charge pint prices much to my husband's annoyance as he really likes a pint and bar staff seemed a bit like headless chickens at times

Very clean and quirky. We had a superior room, very spacious. Plenty of amenities, very nice smelling shampoo and shower gel! The bed was so comfy! Shower amazing! Tea and coffee in the room was nice and not cheap stuff. Staff very helpful too. Just opposite the Piccadilly station. Short walk to the shops. Definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel is a short walk from Manchester train station, from where trains leave to the airport, Liverpool, etc. Also in this station are the stops of the free buses 1, 2 and 3 that circulate by the most emblematic places of the city center. The staff did not help us too much and the breakfast is very expensive. However,...

Came here for the first night get away this year with my partner. We booked an executive room and we did think the room would be abit larger due to staying in other malmaisons. But lovely bathroom, very comfy king size bed. Very clean (couldn't fault) great for how close to Manchester Piccadilly station is. Easy ride into the city...

Always been a fan of all malmaison hotels! Love this place, very modern, quirky, clean, contemporary and the beds are so comfy. The rooms are spacious, clean and the food is always on point! The location was great as in central Manchester, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely be back! Thank you

I spent a night at the Malmaison this week and its difficult to know what to make of this hotel. I would contend there are plenty of better options in Manchester these days but it depends 'what floats your boat'. On the plus side for me: - it's conveniently located just 200m from Piccadilly station - the reception staff were...

Great hotel a stones throw from Piccadilly station. Reception staff were super friendly, the room was clean, smart and very well appointed. The food looked really nice in the restaurant although we didn't eat there as we wanted to explore the area. Only criticism is the price of the wine etc in the mini-bar (£30 for a standard bottle of...

Recently ate in restaurant on my recommendation to colleagues. 5 minutes after ordering informed me my starter wasn't available. Accepted replacement. Then after receiving our main courses they forgot to place our vegetables order. Then informed us later that our dessert orders weren't available. Could understand running out of something at end of night but this was only 7pm. Emailed...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mal Manchester: In the home of the beautiful game you're about to turn Moulin Rouge. A short trundle for wheel-based luggage from Piccadilly Station and you're at the Mal - somewhere in the mists between Paris and the 24-hour party city. You cross the chessboard reception and suddenly you're a king for the knight. It's your move. Smoak Bar and Grill at Mal Manchester: A grill room and bar quite unlike anything Manchester has ever before seen. Set in the award-winning Malmaison Hotel minutes from Piccadilly station, Smoak is total indulgence for the senses. The amazing aroma of nation's finest oak-smoked steaks and fresh fish, served to a pewter counter or cosy booth. Imagine great imported beers, cocktails and bubbly served from an unusual sunken bar, with highly skilled mixologists serving you while you stay seated. Picture a stylish relaxed but chic interior a mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools. Come lunchtime and it's locally sourced bread, generously filled sandwiches and salads or full blown grill dining for the more adventurous lunchtime escapee. Come sundown the mood changes and we turn the aromas up to eleven. The cocktails flow, the steaks sizzle, the music turns up and the night begins. Ember Lounge at Mal Manchester: We could tell you about the Ember Lounge - an immaculate and opulent cocktail bar furtively hidden to the rear of the Smoak Bar & Grill. ... more   less
