I booked the Etrop Grange to stay for one night, as my flight from holiday landed late. As I checked in, I was asked if I'd like to leave my suitcase downstairs, because I was going to be in the attic room. This was not an option, not without pulling out and reorganising the contents of two bags - after...

Experienced a wonderful afternoon here to celebrate a belated Mother's Day Treat with my Sister and Mum last Sunday. Absolutely impeccable service, hosts, decor, and over and beyond excellence of waiting on staff on duty. We were not felt rushed. As the sun was shining and it was a glorious day we had a drink in the gardens, before our...

Remember when hotels were staffed by pleasant and reliable people? This one still is. The hotel is a little way from the centre of the airport, a separation which allows their calm, unhurried approach. The chef is excellent.

Title says it all. Poor rooms with tired fittings and dangerous looking electric heaters. Average meals served by less less than average staff. Overall the only reason to stay here is the convenience of its location.

Couldn't believe that the last time I stayed here was 23 years ago. Back then it was a quiet little country house hotel down some leafy roads. Now It's practically inside Manchester airport. Which makes it very good if you are using the airport (and they run a shuttle which takes less than 5 minutes - or you can walk...

So booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children. Arrived to find it was booked for 1 adult. Fire escape sign in room was broken and omitting a high pitched screeching. It was fixed. Room was lovely, cosy, a bit outdated but clean. Upon leaving we were given the bill and paid. Only to find out 4 days...

The Etrop Grange is a lovely quaint hotel, very close to the airport, clean, quiet and everything you could want. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Perfect for a night before an early flight.

We booked a double room with a double bed and were given a room with two single beds. No cocktails in the cocktail lounge and the barman didn't offer to make one. I asked him to put my drink on our room tab but when my husband ordered a drink he refused. The red wine ordered with our meal was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Etrop Grange is a gracious Grade II listed Georgian Country House originally built in 1780 by school teacher William Moss and although located just a short distance from Manchester Airport, is anything but an airport hotel.Originally known as Moss House, the hotel was renamed Etrop Grange in 1984 by the owners after a local area called Etrop Green. Etrop Grange first opened for business in November 1985 as a fine dining restaurant on just the lower level and was slowly converted into a hotel over the next 13 years with a £3 million refurbishment. The Etrop Grange still retains it's Georgian charm with its stately facade matched by a luxurious interior of decadent chandeliers, heavy drapes and marble fireplaces.Due to modern intervention the hotel is now ideally located just two minutes from Manchester Airport and the M56, and is one of the few hotels in the area with no overhead aircraft noise making it an ideal hotel for business and leisure alike. Offering complimentary transfers to and from the airport and airport railway station (between 06:00 and 22:00), along with complimentary parking and WiFi for all guests, Etrop Grange is the perfect place to spend a relaxing day or night whatever the occasion. ... more   less
