I stayed two nights at the Principal on a work trip to Manchester. I was also trying out the place prior to a 10-day stay in the city with eight other colleagues, our other choice being the known-quantity of the Hilton. The first night was fine, but they messed up the billing, despite my checking twice, and ended up reimbursing...

There were obviously many aspects of your stay that did not meet the standards you quite rightly expected, and I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss these with you in more detail. Would you please send your contact information to me at matt.townley@theprincipalhotel.com so...

We stayed at The Principal for two nights while my husband was in Manchester on business. My first impressions were very good - hugely impressive foyer/reception in a beautiful and grand Victorian building. At check-in, we were offered an upgrade for a reasonable amount, which we accepted. The room was very comfortable, at the back of the hotel on the...

I stayed at The Principal as I was in Manchester on business. It is ideally located in the centre of Manchester, just a 5 to 10 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants. There is an NCP car park just around the corner from reception. This is a spectacular building, with so many beautiful features, that its worth the...

The hotel refurb is pretty good. The room was palatial with a very high ceiling and wood panelling - not sure if I liked it or not really but quite grand. Comfortable bed, decent bathroom - ample fluffy towels and generous Elemis toiletries- complementary tuck box , milk and water nice touches. Only here 1 night but would stay again....

This hotel is simply beautiful, lovely surroundings and the rooms are very elegant, bright and airy. The staff were helpful, but not overly friendly. The breakfast was by far the biggest pit fall. We went down at 9.45am, and the queue of people just to get into the restaurant for breakfast was around 30 people long. After 20 minutes or...

Enthusiastic, motivated and such friendly staff. Bruno could not have done more for us, so kind and thoughtful with a personal welcome note, wine and sorting us out a table for dinner at the last moment. Stunning renovated original features of the building now enhanced with modern sculptural complementary metal and glass additions. Such stylish decor and lighting too. The...
