One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Booked a standard double and it was huge! If we didn't get upgraded I'd be surprised with the size of the room. Gorgeous hotel and really lives up to 5* standards. Loved the bar 'refuge' too which I have been too before. It is equally as gorgeous. Would 100% stay again

Lovely and friendly staff. Stayed in a very spacious room with a large bed which was very comfortable. Shower above the bath was very powerful. Elemis and Neil's yard bath products. Fresh milk and water in the fridge. Kitkat and nice crisps and various tea bags provided. We couldn't get a table at the restaurant as it was fully booked...

Loved this hotel. The building is stunning and our room was perfect. Very spacious and the bathroom was great. It was a little chilly when we checked in but once we sorted the temperature it was perfect. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was so powerful it was great. The complimentary tuck box, water & milk was a...

Stayed with my husband on Saturday night as we were in town to see Jimmy Carr. It was a last minute booking only done that morning and the rate was higher than I usually like to pay in Manchester but we'd decided to treat ourselves. We had to queue a little at check in but it wasn't too bad and...

I recently stayed here last weekend for 2 nights having treated myself whilst staying in Manchester for a weekend with friends and needing some de-stress time. Totally amazed by the building, fabulous reception and beautiful original features having been retained. Smooth check in and upgraded room offered to me-not often the case when you're travelling on your own. Beautiful spacious...

Booked a show at Palace Theatre with my wife and thought we would make a weekend of it by stopping overnight. Decided on booking the Principal rather than the Midland. Did I make the right choice? I will never know but the stay wasn't without issues You are greeted by a grand entrance and reception that with only a few...

My partner and I stayed on a saturday night in room 419. The hotel, staff and room are absolutely wonderul and utterly faultless. We were impressed by the furnishings which were of high quality. The bed is so comfortable! I requested a room that was on a high floor which was honoured, we noticed when going to bed however a...

We stayed for a night for my husbands birthday. It has recently been refurbished and is stunning as you enter the lobby. They gave us an upgrade as it was my husbands birthday and said they would send up something to the room too. Our room was full of original features including an antiroom very clean and comfortable. The control...

Horrible worn and mouldy rooms, after arriving we were changed room 4 times and wasted our time at the hotel. In the morning we went down to breakfast to wait in a standing line for half an hour before sitting down to a dry and tasteless breakfast. Beware of paying with your time and patients here.

We stayed here for a Valentines treat and we were not disappointed. The hotel is stylish, clean and crisp after its refurbishment and the service was to match. On arrival we were greeted with roses and staff offered to assist with our luggage. Our room was fab and looked over the roof of the indoor garden room. We did need...
