I arranged and led a large conference here in May 2015. It's a good venue on the whole, convenient and spacious. But dig a little deeper and things start to grate a little. There's a clear expectation that you have to fit in with them, because they know best. Want something a little more personal and they can't seem to...

It's hard to write a brief review about this hotel , so forgive me if this too long.... I have wanted to stay in this hotel since I was a child and my lovely husband booked us in for my birthday. He had booked us into a junior king suite for one night. When we checked in we didn't realise...

Stayed here during the May bank holiday weekend. All the staff we came into contact with were outstanding. Really friendly and professional. Check in was efficient and painless, the room was clean and well appointed. Service in the bar was great, the waitress was very busy but did a great job, we were served promptly in a friendly manner. We...

My partner and I stayed over for a couple of nights during May. We were getting married and consequently had a large wedding party staying. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. I wanted to mention specifically a gentleman on reception called Kevin and a member of the cleaning staff called Marie who were particularly helpful...

This was a birthday treat, their was a bit of a mix up regarding booking, but this was swiftly resolved and a complementary bottle of Presco offered for inconvenience caused which was a nice gesture. Breakfast was of a high standard & staff very friendly & helpful. Will be staying at the midland next time I am in Manchester.

One would expect better of the rooms after entering the dramatic lobby. The reception staff are welcoming and efficient. The location is great and the restaurant is fabulous (4rosette Michelin rated). The room however was just a bit of a letdown. Dusty and a bit unclean. Curtains frayed at bottoms and very yellowed. Furniture looks tired. TV very small. I...

My family have visited The Midland Hotel and dined at the French Restaurant for many decades, and we were so very sad to see The French be taken over by Chef Simon Rogan. Unfortunately it has changed entirely. However, we celebrated Mummy's birthday a few days ago by having the Champagne Afternoon Tea in the Lounge. It was glorious. Michael,...

the service we received was excellent. The Management went out of their way to accommodate us on a very busy day. However, the quality of the Afternoon Tea was very poor. The idea of putting the cakes in a brown wooden box was not a good idea. They should go back to three tier cake stand. Modernising a step too...

I would absolutely recommend the midland its at the top of its game. Really enjoyed my dinner in Mr coopers house and gardens restaurant where the staff were most certainly on the ball. We also enjoyed a beautiful champagne afternoon tea in the stunning octagon lounge. Really looking forward to dining at The French next time and visiting The spa...

A fantastic building in a wonderful location, provided you can navigate to the front of the building. The roadworks currently being undertaken create some considerable difficulty for those unfamiliar with the City. We booked a junior suite on floor 5. The bathroom was adequate for a short stay. There is no separate shower, climbing into a bath for someone of...
