I visited the hotel to go to the pub/bar and to eat. Bringing my friend who now lives in Cayman and hadn't been back in the pub for 20 years. We ordered from the main menu - i had sausage and mash. It was possibly one of the nicest pub meals i have had - awesome. Its a rare event... More

Stayed for one night in a basic double. The establishment was well presented, the room was small but well appointed and very clean - the en-suite bathroom was very nice. We ate in the pub in the evening - lovely atmosphere and the food was well presented and plentiful. On the whole the food was good value. We were out... More

Nice room, bit small but nice, thoughtful set of dvds in the room, watched a film which I never do usually (was remains of the day). Good ales in the pub downstairs- professional attentive staff, food also good.

On arrival we were greeted by an Australian lady who provided flawless customer service. Walking us up to the room and going through all the features of the hotel and bar to us. Our stay was warm comfy and the room was complete with everything for our stay. Breakfast service was equally as amazing with a polite and attentive lady... More

I stayed at the hotel last night, it was a fab experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I met my friends and we had to decide what food to eat, a very hard decision, all the plates coming out looked lovely. The food was amazing and they say you get what you pay for and this is correct,... More

The hotel is over 300 years old. It has had a luxurious makeover but still retains it's quirkiness and it's sense of history..I stayed in the small double room but there was ample room for a lone traveller. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. Nice touches were the fresh coffee and cafetiere in the room. Being vegetarian there were... More

Stayed in a luxury double room with a great bed. The room was airy and quiet even though it overlooked the street - it was a Monday night. The room was large and very comfortable. The hotel doesn't have parking but there is secure parking very close so that wasn't a problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful and... More

We stayed here for weekend beginning of October whilst we settled our daughter in at Lancaster University. Lovely hotel, with some quirky features. The staff are lovely and friendly as was everyone we met in Lancaster. We were shown to our room on check in. The room was quite big, with a sloping floor, all part of this historic building’s... Lovely hotel, the food is superb & decent prices considering its got 1 rosette. Excellent choice of beers. Room was very nice & decorated well. Only down side is that after travelling 3 hrs then working 12 hrs I'd have liked to have just have room service but they don't do that. Also very busy in the bar on the... More
