Stayed here for one night on my own (would of been two or three if business hadn't been cut short). Hotel was a great find. Could not believe the quality of the bedding and the overall finish of the place for the price. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast was gorgeous and... More

The hotel is less than a five minutes walk from the train station. The rooms are basic with a working tv, single bed and sink. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the bed moved when I turned. I hope this was just a one off problem with that room. The hotel has shared bathrooms on each floor but they try... More

Warm & welcoming is how I would describe the Ashwood Hotel. I had a lovely room even though it was on top floor, only niggle the Wifi was hit & miss :( . Delicious & filling breakfast. Felt right for being a solo female traveller. Will be back again!

Very well placed for the train station and city centre. Clean room and courteous staff. Very good price and able to accommodate a 4pm check in. My only gripe would be the chemical toilet in the en suite which smelled strongly. Shower and breakfast did the job. There was a small amount of road noise - not a surprise as... More

Pleasant staff, clean room, comfortable beds, free (partial) English breakfast. Slight niggle...the weakest coffee I've ever tasted. Not the Ritz, but not a bad little hotel at all. Would definitely stay again. :-)

I stayed here for one night in advance of a business meeting. The receptionist that greeted me in the evening ( I did not arrive until 8.30pm ) was kind and friendly and showed me to my room. I had been unexpectedly upgraded which was a bonus. It was a quiet and cool "in temperature" room, which is more to... More

Gorgeous room, lovely English breakfast included and very convenient to the town centre. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the whole experience was just lovely. Bonus is parking at the front of the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a graduation. Staff are friendly and don't bother you. Tea and coffee in rooms. If you want basic its a good deal. The only downside is that there are shared bathrooms. Breakfast is ok so you need to fill up with toast. 4 bedded room is noisy as on street and the bed by the radiator... More
