We booked this as an inexpensive choice for a weekend away. Our room was overlooking a courtyard, sadly the windows would not close properly and we had cold drafts in both the bedroom and bathroom. There seemed to be no heating in the bathroom. The bathroom looked as if it had recently been re modelled and had a splendid shower....

Lovely location, just across the road from the Abbey. I stayed 2 nights and was happy to visit and revisit the Abbey where staff were helpful. I did not use the car during my stay as the hotel was quite central with lots of things to do and places to eat and drink. Room was comfortable with nice tv facilities....

Pub very nice oldie worldie and quaint room left a lot to be desired dirty surfaces cobwebs and spiders coupled with toilet roll stuck in window to stop the draught the only good thing I can report to my fellow travellers the bed was very comfortable which was a good thing as it helped me go to sleep very quickly...

Called in on Boxing Day for a tea break and was lucky enough ot see the Mummers performing. What could be better? Dog-friendly too. This is one of the Old English Inns chain so you know food will be reliable. Tried to stay here for Xmas but was booked up.

This place certainly needs some major improvements. It is in an historic building which could be a nice and authentic touch but it is not well maintained at all. The bathroom looked very run down and not very clean and there is no shower head so you have to take a bath. we had a room facing the streets and...

We are very sad to hear that your stay was not satisfactory; we are looking into making improvements to the rooms, in particular the rooms (all rooms will soon have showers functioning), as we believe that this is essential to the modern traveller. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future

A lovely old building, slap bang next to the wonderful Abbey, friendly staff, but it comes across as very tired and in need of an urgent upgrade. I was in a single room and I heartily recommend that if you are a big chap as I am, pay a bit extra and get a double. My bed was so narrow...

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend in September 2016. Think of it as an Inn/B&B and not a Hotel and you can't go far wrong for what you pay! Parking onsite in the middle of the town opposite the Abbey, spacious clean well appointed rooms and an excellent breakfast thrown in. We had some drinks in the nice...

Rooms are lovely and clean some bits need a upgrade but you can live with them as you are only there for 3 or 4 nights. Staff are always on hand if you need anything. Plenty of parking spaces. Abbey is just across the road.
