The hotel is in a central position on the high street (with parking around the back), but we weren't disturbed by noise. It's an old building with lots of twisting turns of corridors and stairs. It needs a lot of attention to make it smart; new furniture, new mattresses (very lumpy!) and a coat of paint, but the bedding and...

Reasonable rate for a central hotel but room needs an urgent refurbishment to bring it back to its once former glory. Such a shame it has been let go this much when staff are lovely and so helpful. Bed linen and towels were spotless but mattresses old, lumpy and creaked at every movement, paint peeling from walls, light fittings missing,...

WORST HOTEL EVER!!!! The whole establishment is covered with at least 5 years of dust. It's a health hazard! Dirty rooms! Staff ignorant! Chef wouldn't make your choice of breakfast only his plate of slop!

A very central.position close to station and the theatre which is what we wanted. Exceptionally cheap.... hence the grim room, the first room we were given was ghastly, didn't want to stay in it, the Kitty Suite, we settled with, the whole room was on an angle, bed clean and comfy.... tatty lamp shade, two of the lights by the...

Unfortunately we have stayed here several times because it's central and cheap, however every time we have stayed we have vowed it would be the last and this time we mean it! I don't need to go into detail as the pictures show you how awful it is. I really think it's unsuitable as a hotel and if I had...

Lunch with my husband, friendly staff, quick service and lovely food! I take my 9year old daughter there too and she says the children's chicken nuggets are delicious plenty of choice on the menu. Always have a good meal there and I've tried most things!

Stayed for two hours and checked out, roo9m was disgusting, freezing cold damp. I would rather of stayed on a park bench it would be warmer. Staff erm yeah there was some. Hotel needs a total refit to bring it out of the last century or maybe the century before that. Should be closed down.

I stayed for a night whilst away on business. Check-in was at the main bar as the dedicated check-in desk for the hotel was closed at the time of my visit. Firstly, if you are planning on checking-in, make sure you don't follow the sat-nav to the High Street itself as it is partly pedestrianized and partly a one-way system....

Stopped for a quick drink. Very polite people. It was actually shocking to meet people I know unexpectedly having a good time. The service was good. I enjoyed every minute I spent in there. I would go back for a proper evening out there soon

I don't normally write reviews but feel that some of the reviews for this hotel are unfair so here's my opinion... I paid only £45 for my room. The hotel is old and quirky with real character. The bed was super comfy and clean! The staff were lovely. Are there areas that can be improved? Yes.. But if it was...
