Stayed 4 nights. 3 adults in our party as we have a 20 year old son. Premier Inn won’t entertain taking 3 adults in the same room even if in the same family, so we opted for Travelodge. You get what you pay for, but staff here are excellent, must make a call out for Sarah who was brilliant as was the lad who checked us in and waited at the bar.
Room comfy and spacious. Note not cleaned during our 4 nights but may be due to COVID. However staff happy to replace towels and replenish teas/coffees etc.
Location excellent for centre of Maidstone, only drawback is lack of parking, but you are warned when booking. Shame most of the spaces are taken up by the seemingly permanent parking of white vans even during working week.

A perfectly situated hotel as regards being within walking distance of the amenities that Maidstone has to offer. That said, it is centrally situated, so lighter sleepers may need earplugs.
There is free car parking on site on a first come-first-served basis, or (also free) at an adjacent car park. My room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and the shower hot. No complaints. My trip was during the recent ‘heatwave/tropical nights’. There was a fan provided in my room. Sadly, it did not work and unfortunately, a replacement was not available until the following night. The chap in charge was most apologetic. Additional tea, milk, sugar etc was available on request and, having been caught in a rainstorm, I was instantly offered fresh towels as I dripped through the doorway! I found the staff to be polite and helpful throughout my stay.
I was born in Maidstone and the purpose of my visit was to retrace some steps from my youth. There have been many changes, but still much of interest to see/visit in this, the County Town Of Kent.
There is an array of bars, pubs and restaurants. I can personally recommend The Gem Of Kent (Turkish) and Ferderico’s (French), both within 5/10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Further afield, The Tickled Trout, Lower Road, West Farleigh is lovely old pub with a very good restaurant.
The Travelodge ideally suited my purposes for this visit and I can recommend.

A last minute booking was made for this Hotel, we paid £25 which is incredibly low. After reading reviews regarding parking we were lucky and got a car park space when we arrived. The room was quite small but spotless and had every thing required. We had breakfast before we left on Monday morning was plentiful and very tasty. Overall a very pleasant stay but would like to point out one thing, on arrival we were just handed our room key and told which direction we could find it, nothing was mentioned about food not being served that evening or if breakfast was available to us the flowing morning, infact the young man seemed totally uninterested.....apart from that this was a fantastic stay for the quick turnaround we required it for.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Lisa was very friendly, helpful and informative upon arrival. Shower was surprisingly fantastic, very powerful and good temperature. Bed was comfy aswell. Only issue was the room temperature was extremely hot, felt like a sauna in there at times. The staff in the morning were also very helpful and courteous, they let me keep my bags behind the desk after check out while I explored Maidstone before my train home. All in all a great, affordable experience, would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for an affordable stay in Maidstone. Also looking location is perfect right by the town centre. Keep up the good work!

Went here as last minute decision and booked later than we normally would
A lot of places could accommodate for 1 night but not two consecutive nights. We found that the Travelodge had room and booked it. Hassle free booking and added breakfast on top was less than £180.00. We were placed in a room on the 5th floor which was comfortable but basic. There was no hairdryer but they had them on request. The bed was comfortable and of a good size although the pillows were a bit limp. Some occasional noise from the road but not very often. At the time of year, we expected to hear a lot more Christmas party goers but not at all. Some views were of the town and river others were not so scenic, but I guess that is why we had less noise. The breakfast was well supplied and the cooked food was hot plated with a good selection. We had an evening meal at the hotel which was good also. The best thing about this particular hotel was the staff. I would say they are the greatest asset that this hotel has. Polite, pleasant and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were socially distancing or wearing masks, although some guests did not. Don’t expect frills and niceties, this is a one or two night stopover hotel that does things well. I have stayed in better hotels but not at this price. Most of the guests seemed to be attending Christmas parties and were happy for a bed for the night. Would I stay here again? Yes!

We recently stayed here as part of a large group. The room was spacious and clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were excellent, plenty of choice, all kept well supplied with the hot food staying hot. Tables and trays were constantly cleaned with a number of sanitizer points available. Although we do not normally stay in a Travelodge we would certainly use this one again.

Booked a weeks stay arriving Christmas Eve, upon entering the hotel you are in the worlds smallest hotel reception, could hardly move. Check in was fine, but we were advised that we had booked a room on the business floor and as we had a dog we should be on the ground floor, but as they are unable to offer a refund they decided to leave us in original room. Whilst checking in my husband had a look at the bar/ restaurant which is reminiscent of a school canteen. Up to the room we went with our dog, what can I say, we thought reception was small, small room with a small double bed, a small bar coming out of the wall which apparently functions as a wardrobe, one plastic chair and tiny table which had the tea making facilities. The bathroom had a minuscule shower tray with a curtain. There was nowhere to put anything you would be falling over stuff every time you turned around. We could not work out where the dog was supposed to sleep as lack of floor space, bearing in mind it is Christmas, so we have gifts for family which also need to go somewhere! We went and found another hotel, slightly more expensive, a lovely room, large bed, and proper bathroom. Therefore returned to Travelodge and checked out, upon explaining to the receptionist she did not seem to care or seem surprised, she did not offer any assistance, or try to retain our custom in any way whatsoever. We have emailed Customer Services, as that is the only way to contact them but as of yet we have had no response.

the hotel and staff were very lovely. however, i left my charger in my room and i checked out then realised i left my charger (£30) i called but no one picked up so i left a voicemail saying i’d be coming back for the charger as it is my only charger. when i got back to the hotel 3 hours after i’d checked out housekeeping hadn’t turned the charger into lost and found or to a receptionist member of staff. it is without a doubt housekeeping took the charger for themselves which is unfair. i was given a different charger from the lost and found box by the male receptionist, but that’s irrelevant to the issue.

I have never been more disgusted in how a group of young females have been treated by the receptionist at Travelodge Maidstone.

Upon calling the hotel a week in advance to ask if 4 adults were able to stay in a family room and being told by whoever was on reception (clearly who was not trained) at the time (with 2 other people listening to the convo) that it was fine to book as there were enough beds we went and booked a family room online thinking that as we did the right thing and checked it was all sorted. Upon arriving the receptionist was immediately rude saying ‘none of my staff would say that’ despite having details of the phone call recorded on my phone and witnesses to the call. When asking for headoffices number she gives me the wrong place and when asked for the correct number she lies and says she’s listened to the recording of my previous phone call despite our mums having called the actual head office later on and then saying it was impossible she would have called them and heard it as they shut at 5pm. Our 4th friend then calls us to say she isn’t coming as she suddenly has a migraine so we now only have 3 people which is allowed in a family room.

The receptionist (I think it was Jess) then said that the 3 of us were not allowed to stay in the hotel at all for being rude. This is absolutely preposterous! We were not rude at all, we apologised for being annoyed and knew it wasn’t the receptionist fault but she was not helping us at all and was blatantly lying to our faces. To have paid £120 and not be allowed to use the room where the 3 of us had the right to stay in is an absolute joke. We as 3 young females have been stranded on the streets after booking an end of school weekend out. When I started crying she said ‘don’t cry’- how rude!!!

After staying here many times I will NEVER be booking again and highly suggest that none of you do also. The staff are rude, unhelpful and don’t care about the safety of young women, only money.

No bath only shower. If you'd like a bath then ask for a family room.
