Friendly welcome but went downhill from there. We were told the cod was off the menu which was fair enough. We ordered two starters whitebait and ham hock terrine. Then a burger and a gammon. After quite a while we were told there was no ham hock. After looking at the menu I decided there was nothing else I fancied... More

New Management a delight....after being put off the pub for the last couple of years it's nice to find it back to the welcoming country pub it used to be. I've eaten twice and have found the food to be good pub grub at pub prices. Service was excellent and we didn't have long to wait, definitely worth having a... More

We held a surprise party for our friend who was celebrating her 80th birthday. We had a private room, wonderful caring staff who lit the candles on the cake for us and gave first class service. We all ordered different meals which were served on time, together and deliciously hot. Thanks to Sam, Matt and Ruby who cared for our... More

We visited for our birthday with family. We were aware that there had been a change of management and weren't sure what to expect. We had booked a table early in the evening and when we arrived we were greeted and shown straight to it. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout the evening. Our main meals were all good... A meal for 2 - v well presented - but it all tasted salty ( & we'd not added any ). We told the waitress too. My partner asked for pepper sauce after ordering & rather than be told there wasn,t any - was handed a little jug of milk with peppercorns at the bottom. My icecream was lovely but... More

We have frequently visited this pub and enjoyed excellent food in a quiet, friendly, rural setting. This establishment has now changed hands and we visited it last night for a quiet and pleasant dinner. This is what we found: THE GOOD This is an ideal place for those seeking a lively local pub, live music and a large seemingly local... More

This is our local pub, we've been coming for years. The food used to be great, i said so, times before. Even one of the best breakfasts i had ever eaten, down to quality ingredients, sources, teamwork. But that was then. No interest is being shown, going down, pull the nose up.!! Nipped in couple of weeks ago, there was... More
