We had a really lovely few days here. The owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive, our room was warm and comfortable, and the breakfasts were out of this world. During our stay we explored Harrogate, visited York, Harlow Carr gardens, Ripley Castle and Knaresborough, and we walked along the Nidd Valley. It was a perfect winter break.

Great stay for 5 nights with an amazing breakfast every morning of fresh fruit or cooked breakfast. Lovely rooms with great attention to detail. Easy access to Harrogate restaurants and theres a short cut 50yrds up the road from the house, leaving a 3mins walk to the main entrance of the exhibition centre.

2nd stay at Arden house this year and definitely did not disappoint. I can’t recommend it enough and am already looking to rebook for next year. Mark and Jan are the most amazing hosts, so warm and friendly and can’t do enough for you. Rooms are warm and cosy and the breakfasts, wow, they are amazing, I’ve travelled the world and never had so much choice and homemade too. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you both again next year

I've been staying here every year for years and with good reason. Jan and Mark could not be more welcoming and helpful to a weary worker at the Country Living Christmas Fair. It's like staying with family. The guest house is a short easy walk to the Conference Centre and they can provide off street/residential parking for your vehicle. The rooms are clean, cosy and en suite, usually with a small shower room. The beds are great and the breakfast is awesome! Jan will even make you a flask of tea to take to work. If you're bringing in a take away there is a lounge available with an honesty bar too. Highly recommended for a home from home stay.

we were with them for 3 days but would not recommend them as on the last morning we had mouldy toast and i blame this for un upset stomach the day after as I had eaten some of the toast before it was noticed that it was mouldy, this is just not good enough you should not have to check your food over before you eat it to make sure it is safe, the person that removed it from the table did see the mould even though they say they did not so that is a lie,the fact that they are lying by saying this is very annoying, I just with we had taken a photo of the toast.

Many thanks for the third review that your family have written on exactly the same subject on Trip Advisor, and we believe that it is outside of their publication guidelines. As you are now calling us a liar on a public forum, this is slander and unacceptable. As per our previous response, we do not believe that mouldy toast was served, and we do not appreciate any member of our staff being called a liar before they have even responded. On the day in question, Arden House was exceptionally busy, meaning that our food product turnover was extremely high. The bread in question had been bought from a major retailer the day before and had an expiry date two days after this Guests departure. When notified that there was an issue with the toast, all of the racks on the table were removed and replaced with fresh toast (after this had been inspected). We saw no evidence that there was mould on the toast. We also quote your email sent on 1st December "my husband was out of pocket because of this". Arden House has an exceptionally high rating from all other reviewers, has a 5 star hygiene rating for food, and we would therefore ask all readers to consider this and make up their own minds both about the review and the forum on which it has been published.

we were given mouldy toast and (mark) the owner did see this even though he will try to say he did not, he seen the mould on the toast that was removed from our table yet he is saying he did not see it and he says there was no mould on the bread that was left.

Just returned from a three night stay at Arden House. Very clean, comfortable accommodation. Jan and Mark are excellent hosts and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Thank you both for spoiling us. Delicious breakfast. We will be returning next year which we booked when we left today. L & N 😊

Arden House is in a quiet location within easy reach of Harrogate town centre. Mark and Jan are the perfect hosts. They provided us with helpful advice on places to visit. The breakfast was amazing - tasty Bircher Muesli, numerous fresh fruits, continental and cooked breakfast. Thank you for a good break in Harrogate

Myself and a work colleague were on a course from Kent and stayed at Arden House B&B. I have to say, Mark and Jan are two of the nicest people you’ll meet and the way they run the place is amazing. The breakfast is very nice with plenty to choose from (I went through the entire menu), the rooms are warm and cosy and it’s properly looked after. Anyone who scores anything less than 5 is mentally unstable and deserves to be locked up in my opinion because you won’t find anywhere better!! Thank you for making my time away from family a lot easier and I’ll always book with you if I’m up that way again (I believe my work colleague has actually booked again for a personal visit next year).
