this is a 4* hotel and it showed in almost every detail. The decor was lovely, the bedroom extremely comfortable and the en-suite spotlessly clean. The food was really delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were every efficient and friendly. In fact the only tiny complaint would be the toilet roll holder falling off and the bedside shelf leaning at a...

Stayed here for a couple of days last week. Lovely hotel and friendly staff. We had a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room and a dinner on the 1st night as part of the offer. Really enjoyed it. Meal was lovely. Hotel only about 5 - 10 min walk from town centre.

Room was of a good size, well equipped and clean apart from the minor issue of an unacceptably dirty shower tray. This was the only minor thing that let the room down. Staff were friendly and attentive, evening meal in the restaurant was good. Breakfast was average due to being of a buffet style meaning things weren't as fresh as...

We have just stayed here on a 'secret escape' The welcome was fantastic The room very nice The meal excellent and as my wife is now gluten free since her illness the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Thoroughly deserving of 5 stars but a couple of negatives Car Park fairly priced but very small and very tight Eggs at...

A friend and I stayed one night, mainly to visit Harlow Carr Gardens. We arrived by train. A taxi from the station was just short of £7. Our rooms both overlooked the car park and beyond that to open countryside. The rooms seem to have been recently updated and the bathroom had underfloor heating and new towels of decent size.My...

We stayed here one night and were impressed by the large executive room and huge bed with great facilities. The bar was nice, staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast good. The hotel is also close to the town centre which is a 10 to 15 minute walk away. The car park is very tight and costs £6 per...

Had a lovely stay here. Room was superb and the food was pretty good too for the price. Staff were very nice and friendly. Great position for walking into town. Basement reastaurant could do with sprucing up hence only 4 stars.

Despite the hotel being a little tired looking, one could say like so many UK "resort" hotels this was made up for by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The location of the hotel is also good for a short walk into the town. Parking is at a premium as one might expect in a town centre location so...

Stayed over Easter bank holiday weekend via secret escapes. Expectations weren't high as we'd paid very little for wine & bdb, however dinner in particular was fantastic. Some parts of the hotel were a little tired and could do with an update, but staff and food made up for it. The hotels just a 10 min walk from the center...
