We took a short break earlier in October. The booking arrangements were excellent including speaking to Judy before our visit in view of the fast changing virus issues. During our visit we were warmly welcomed and extremely well looked after. The guest house is in first class condition and has been lovingly looked after. Our room was excellent with everything we needed. Breakfasts were lovely. Every attention had been given to the current virus issues and we felt totally comfortable throughout our visit. Judy and Sue are lovely people, so friendly and kind. We recommend the Alamah 100% and will most certainly return in the future.
Stayed here in early August for three nights, it did not disappoint. Welcomed by Judy and Sue at the door they had visors on and kept their distance as we were informed of how to proceed in keeping with Covid guidelines. Paperwork was on the hall table with an already sanitised pen for us to complete. We were not escorted to our room, the room was unlocked with a sanitised key in the room, we were directed by Judy. In the room the TV remote was in a plastic covering. All tea, coffee etc was in a brown paper bag. Biscuits, sugar and other goodies were in a plastic container. We were informed that once our stay was over we could take all the remaining refreshments as sadly they would have had to be thrown away, we took them in the brown paper bag. As our stay was for three nights our room would not be serviced unless we asked, this helped to restrict unnecessary entry into the room. Breakfast was ordered before 8pm the previous evening and was a written request by ourselves. At breakfast Judy and Sue wore full visors and protective clothing, the whole experience had been thoroughly thought through and felt very safe. The guest house itself is a period town house, very grand and welcoming. Inside it was spotlessly clean, bright and airy with a cosy feel. We had a large double room that had everything we needed, spacious, warm and very comfortable, again spotlessly clean. Breakfast was scrumptious with the best scrambled eggs ever. Hot or cold breakfast was available and it was plentiful and tasty. On a quiet road it is only 4-5 minutes walk into Harrogate town centre so is ideally situated. We had an excellent stay and would strongly recommend you consider this pleasant and comfortable guest house, we certainly will stay here in the future.…
Made to feel extremely welcome. Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast excellent. Great location within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs, Valley Park. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at The Alamah over the August bank holiday weekend for two nights. Charming guesthouse, perfectly located for walking into Harrogate, wonderful hosts - we would definitely stay here again. COVID measures taken seriously but did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay at the Alamah and as usual we have had a fantastic time. Due to current conditions we have been virtually isolating ourselves for the previous 4 months but we had no doubts that our safety and welfare would be well catered for by Judy and Sue. The procedures they have put in place ensured that at no time did we feel that our wellbeing was in any way compromised and at the same time we were able to enjoy our stay without any intrusion. Certain things have been changed e.g. pre-ordering of Breakfasts and self-servicing of rooms (under 4 nights stay) but everything was geared up to ensure we had a stress free holiday. Harrogate town centre shops were very well organised and the local restaurants and attractions were also organised down to a T for customer service and safety. Thanks once again to Judy and Sue for ensuring that we were able to enjoy at least one short holiday break this year.…
We stayed at The Alamah Guest House for two nights, in the middle of a bleak period of weather during December, for the purpose of seeing the town dressed for Christmas. We arrived by train and the house was a 10 minute walk away where we were greeted very hospitably by the ladies despite the fact that we were soaking wet! The top floor room we had was very well appointed, warm and comfortable and we had a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast in the morning (full English) was absolutely excellent and filling. The beautiful and character house itself is very close and central to all of Harrogate's attractions and amenities, which can all be reached on foot. Situated in a very safe neighborhood. Would definitely stay again.
Had a lovely stay here. Absolutely lovely hosts, very welcoming and homely. Breakfast was lovely, everything was clean and tidy. Will definitely be back when I next need a bit of peace and calm. Would highly recommend. Thank you for your kindness, Judy and Sue xx
As soon as I arrived at Alamah Guest House last weekend I was greeted very warmly by the ladies who run the establishment and given a lot of information about local restaurants, bars etc. The room I shared with a friend was wonderfully situated on the top floor with an excellent view, particularly the colourful horse chestnut tree still in its golden colours standing outside. The Italian restaurant opposite that was recommended lived up to its reputation and was so convenient during our weekend stay. The beds were very comfortable and tea/coffee facility greatly appreciated. Every morning we were woken by the gorgeous smell of bacon cooking downstairs and breakfast was delivered on time, hot and very tasty! Plenty of fruits and cereal for those that did not want a cooked breakfast. The guest house is situated within easy reach of the train and bus station and the town. I think Alamah Guest House is one of the best B&B's that I have stayed in and my thanks go to the two ladies who run such an organised and friendly business. I would certainly book again if I needed a place to stay in Harrogate.…
Stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. Judy and Sue were perfect hosts. They both run a spotlessly clean guest house where attention to detail is key. Our room on the top floor was spacious and cosy. Breakfast was beautifully presented. It's a 5 minute walk into Harrogate and there are good bars and restaurants nearby. Lovely Italian restaurant opposite.
We stayed for 2 nights earlier this month and everything was excellent. Parking was straightforward and the location was perfect for town as well as easy to access places nearby. A warm welcome, spotless room, delicious breakfast from attentive and genuine owners. Nothing was too much trouble, would definitely recommend.
