I’m usually wary of all glowing reviews, but Shellbourne House deserves every one it has received. A beautiful house, tastefully decorated and equipped, immaculately clean and tidy, welcoming warm, spacious and cozy. We were made very welcome on arrival and throughout our two night stay. Sue was lovely. Just the right blend of attentive, kind and friendly host and not at all intrusive. Our room had a fabulous shower, bed and linen, breakfast was off the scale good. We cannot fault this place for location, accommodation and homeliness. We can’t wait to return. Thank you Sue for a lovely stay.
Sue at the Shelbourne ,Kings Road,Harrogate, gave us a big Yorkshire welcome on a very wet and windy Friday afternoon. We were there as an extended family to celebrate our daughters graduation. We had wonderful boutique style rooms, all ensuite.Everything was spotless and very cosy. There was a complimentary hot drinks tray and top ups were available. The bed was very comfy.A huge Yorkshire breakfast was included and filled us up until evening dinner.Sue,you are a star, keep shining, you are doing an awsome job. I am so glad I booked Shelbourne House and couldn’t have been more pleased with my stay. My room was a single - Sue explained that it was a small room but it was absolutely fine and had every I needed. The whole house is beautifully kept with great attention to detail. Breakfast is superb with an excellent choice all prepared to order. Sue is the best host - welcoming, helpful and friendly. My next stay in Harrogate will be at Shelbourne House.
Cannot sing Sue's praises enough. SUPER accommodating for vegan and gluten free. Free parking. Super super comfy beds. What a wonderful stay. REALLY friendly and helpful with places to eat and to visit. Lovely quiet location for a cosey nights sleep. Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Fantastic find close to the centre of Harrogate with a price to match . Lovely property with the personal touch of great hosts giving information on the local area and with added bonus of free parking at the roadside opposite ( just ask Sue for parking permit) . Great choice for breakfast in the morning all great local fresh produce , will definitely return and highly recommend. Only advice is to pre book popular restaurants if visiting at the weekend as they get very busy very early .
The Shelbourne House was brilliant. It is located in the heart of Harrogate which is an absolutely gorgeous and very charming town. Sue is the owner and she cooks a really amazing breakfast for you. The rooms are extremely nice with beautiful soft cotton bedclothes and great pillows. I recommend this Guest House to everyone. It's the best value you will ever get and you are only a 30 minute drive away from all the beautiful walks around the Yorkshire Dales. There are some really nice pubs just 2 minutes up the road from The Shelbourne where you can find delicious cask ales too.
We had a really warm welcome from Sue the landlady, our room was large with an extremely well appointed en suite. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean with a very large comfortable bed. The choice of breakfast was large and varied using all locally sourced food and extremely well cooked and presented. Shelbourne House was ideally placed just a five minute walk from the centre of Harrogate. Sue was an excellent host and always ready for a chat and a laugh. We would not hesitate to recommend Shelbourne House to any one. We will certainly be staying there when next we visit Harrogate.
What a gem this is! A short walk from the main attractions and the town centre. Parking arrangements are made for you at this exceptionally clean and well presented accommodation. The hosts were very friendly and provided a beautiful breakfast. Highly recommended.
Was recommended this hotel by a friend, certainly lived up to what she said. Sue is a lovely host and was so helpful from the time of booking. Lovely choice for breakfast. Rooms are very different in a lovely way. All very clean and spotless. Covid rules all met. Nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again. Ideal for walking into town and an abundance of various pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance.
What a find this was .... Lovely Hotel close, but not too close to the centre of Harrogate . Sue is the lovely owner of this fine establishment and works tirelessly to ensure guests have a lovely stay. Parking is on the street but Sue provides permits for the duration of your stay. It’s a five minute ( downhill) walk to the centre of Harrogate and all it offers. At the time of our visit we were the only occupants partly due to it being a Monday / Tuesday and also the Conference Centre opposite was on stand.by as a Nightingale Hospital. Our Room was beautifully presented and had everything you needed. Not just our room but the hotel is beautifully decorated. The Dining room is just lush and a nice touch on the wall mounted blackboard is a list of the local suppliers of the food used for the breakfasts . Talking of breakfasts .....wow. Just wow. Endless list of what you can have and if they don’t do Sue will try and get it. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was incredible and the local black pudding was the best I have ever had. We have already started making plans to rebook this Hotel and take friends back with us. A great Hotel and a lovely host. Sue you are a diamond.xx…
