After much consideration, I chose here for a 2 night birthday stay so my friend and I could visit Harrogate, as she has never been before. I chose a superior lodge room (No 11) as it also has a private patio with garden furniture. It was at the end of the block and had lovely views across the fields and of the alpacas! ) On telephoning the Inn and speaking to someone called Chris, he said he would do me a special rate of £260 for a Friday to Sunday stay (since getting back, I have looked on booking.com and for the following week, the Friday to Sunday rate comes up at £242 for the same room?) On arrival, I paid in full and we were pleased with our room which looked nice & clean and I had been given a decorated 'Happy birthday plate with 2 chocolates and 2 macaroons and a bottle of white wine which was a nice touch. The double doors to the patio were extremely hard to lock but we figured it out but the decked patio walls could do with brushing down occasionally as they were full of cobwebs and spiders eggs which terrified my friend! The room was very cold so we turned the radiator up however, the bathroom was extremely cold too and the heated towel rail wouldn't turn on. There was also a huge spider on the ceiling! I couldn't reach it and as my friend is terrified of them I rang reception at 3pm to tell them about the towel rail and the spider and was told someone would come and sort it out. At 5.30pm, I had to ring again as no-one had been. Chris said he was really sorry but obviously the towel rail was broken so he could either move us to another room (we had unpacked by then) or send a heater which we could place in front of the bathroom door and he would give us a complimentary drink each with our evening meal on the Saturday so I agreed to this. A lovely young man came with the heater and caught the spider! After returning from Harrogate on the Saturday, I noticed that the bed's duvet had been retucked in at the bottom but the top of it had not been made up which was strange and the sink and tap had not been cleaned? We went for our evening meal which was lovely, my friend said her steak pie was one of the nicest she'd ever had and I had 3 starters. The mussels were excellent and a fantastic portion for a starter, I couldn't finish them! On returning to our room, I tried to put Netflix on so we could watch a movie but it kept on saying no internet signal. I rang reception and a young man said he would check if it was working in another room. I was waiting on the phone for over 10 minutes. I hung up and rang again, the same man answered and I said I thought he had forgotten about me, his reply was quite arrogant, he then said the rooms didn't have access to Netflix. After coming off the phone, I proceeded to go into the tv settings and realised the smart TV was not logged onto the hotels WiFi so I logged in with the guest WiFi, signed into my own Netflix account and Voila!! Staff should know this!! Our breakfast each morning was excellent and we both really enjoyed it. On checking out on the Sunday, the complimentary drinks had not been taken off our food bill and the lady staff member said I'd had the complimentary bottle of wine in the room. I pointed out that the wine was there on our arrival, the complimentary drink each at dinner had been agreed on due to the cold bathroom, she then said she couldn't take them off now the bill had been done. I insisted and after much humming & ha-ing, she removed them (so they could be taken off!) She then said I owed £132.50 for the room. I pointed out I had paid £260 on arrival. She looked very doubtful so I proceeded to look in my bag for the receipt. She said oh, never mind, I'll sort it but it made me feel as if I was trying to get away without paying part of my bill? All in all, a nice stay but certainly lacking in customer service. I feel as if I have been overcharged for the room and also felt as if I was trying to get away with paying for one nights stay! Because of this, I'm not sure if I would stay here again which is a shame as other aspects of our stay were lovely and we'd certainly like to visit Harrogate again in the spring when it is at it's best. …
Stayed for 2 nights on business. The pub and restaurant were lovely. Staff were great and rooms were very comfy. The entire site was extremely clean and tidy. Food was great, lots of opitons. Will be staying again when next in the area.
Great value hotel. Clean hotel, comfortable beds and great food. We only used it as a one night stop over but will definitely be back for a longer stay. Plenty to do locally. Much better than most town/city centre hotels we've used before. Staff very friendly and helpful too.
A* service from the moment I walked through the door. A beautiful pub/ restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff, food to die for and great beers and wines. The staff couldn’t do enough to make my stay perfect and the room was very clean, very cosy and very warm. I can’t find fault with any part of my stay and I will come back in the summer to experience the garden.
New found relaxing place -spotless Had an amazing time away with hubby for his birthday. The room was so warm, comfortable & clean. Staff were so friendly & food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Had a balcony, which was great for us & any smokers wanting to go. Highly recommend
Booked this as a last minute overnight stay for work and was really impressed with room, staff and quality of food would definitely stay again. We had the large yorkshire puddings filled with sausage, mash and a variety of vegetables and covered in gravy, would certainly recommend. Breakfast comes with a good choice. There is plenty of parking and a bus stop right outside the pub which takes you into Harrogate and also Leed.
What a lovely place to spend New Year. Fantastic food, excellent and Friendly staff, beautiful garden lodge. Bed was so comfortable me and my hubby meant to see what make it was as we're after a new mattress at home! Alas we forgot to look. Would definitely recommend The Inn.
Great place clean rooms great Menu and food we stayed two nights and had dinner here both nights both spot on massive menu The only let down was the room was not ready and little things had to be asked for twice like toast and table bookings But hey we will be back so it can’t be that bad
This place is fantastic, second time we have stayed. The rooms are immaculate and such a high standard, the beds so comfortable, the walk in shower top notch. We stayed after we got engaged and I told the owners ahead of time, as it was a surprise for my partner. They had a bottle of wine in an ice bucket waiting in the room and a plate of brownies and strawberries on it, with congratulations written on in chocolate. They didn’t have to do anything, but they did this for us and it was a really lovely gesture. This last time we stayed, we had just recently gotten married and we’re due to go on our honeymoon, so I booked for us to stay a night before we go away as a surprise to my wife, as she absolutely loved it the last time. I did cheekily mention that we had just got married and had stayed after our engagement and it was a surprise to my wife. Again there was a celebration plate, with some macarons and fruit on and a bottle of Prosecco on ice, with two glasses. We had a meal the evening we arrived and as last time it was fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. One of the owners even remembered us and asked if we’d like to sit where we sat last time. The breakfast in the morning was brilliant, everything you could think of option wise, out on a table, presented very nicely and a choice of cooked breakfasts included in the room price we paid, which was also brilliant, top quality ingredients used. Absolutely nothing we can fault, no complaints. There is only one thing we could think of to complain about, which is nothing to do with the hotel or staff. One of the guests sat there all breakfast complaining, audibly, about the wooden construction of the lodges and patio doors leafing out to the decked area. For starters lodges are generally of a wooden construction, as the name suggests, and the patio doors opened perfectly easily on our stay on both occasions. So anyone who may read that persons review, ignore it completely and focus on the good ones like ours, as these are totally accurate. I guess some people just aren’t happy unless they are moaning about something. 🤦🏼♂️…
Another fabulous stay ! We stayed here for another night and this is simply one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in . The rooms are immaculate and comfy , lovely and warm when we arrived . We had a bottle of Prosecco and a celebration plate waiting in our room which was a lovely touch (we have just got married ) Everything in the room is top notch down to from the bedding to the tea and coffee supplied . The fact we had robes and slippers helped massively as we actually forgot our case 😂 . Dinner in the restaurant 10:/10 again !!! Staff so friendly and nothing too much trouble ! Breakfast was also superb ! Cannot wait to return again
