Twelve of us decided on the steak night which offers for £9.95 a choice of Sirloin, flat iron, mixed grill or gammon steak. All served with plenty of chips, mushroom, onion rings and salad garnish. There was an option to have a sauce of pepper or stilton at an addition of £3. The food looked and tasted delicious. The staff...

We held our wedding reception here and couldn't have been any happier with it. The venue was beautifully presented, the food was excellent and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Paul was our wedding coordinator and nothing was too much trouble for him, he was brilliant and was there the whole day making sure everything ran smoothly. The accommodation...

Spacious, dated rooms, en-suite with electric showers with very soft fine spray. Ached all over from rigid bedsprings, flat pillows. Fluffy fresh towels. Just about every floorboard creaked. Manager kindly changed room after first night as flood lighting outside shone directly into room at the front of the hotel through open mesh blinds, second room had curtains which were a...

Set in a small village this was a good find as we expected a smaller place. Welcoming staff. Nice large, clean room with comfortable beds. There was a good choice of breakfast and they sell real ale too.

After hunting for a suitable venue for a Golden Wedding celebration, we 'discovered' The Baskervilles. Manager, Paul Jeynes, was most helpful in the months running up to our big occasion and our thanks go to him and all his staff for the very smooth running of the event. We hired the function room, took all nine bedrooms, plus breakfast the...

This was booked at the last minute by a company I was working for. The people were polite but the hotel room I stayed in was awful. Bedding was clean and nice towels but the bathroom was very old and the shower didn't work. No bath. The one bedside light had a broken shade so the bulb was exposed. There...

Made a booking online via booking.com for sept 2017 for Burghley Horse Trials only to receive a email saying room was cancelled two weeks later with no explanation. I had to call the hotel and find out if the email was genuine and not some random spam mail. The email was genuine and then an explanation was given - all...
