This guesthouse was over-priced and very poor quality. While suitable for rugby teams and their hanger's on, anyone that washes daily should avoid it. We spent one night here and had two single rooms. The hotel smelled like cigarettes and everything, from sheets to carpet, looked and felt synthetic. The floor in my travelling partner's room had not been cleaned...

Lovely place to say, good value and lovely breakfast. At first I missed the tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but then found out that tea/coffee/hot chocolate were available free of charge in the lounge and downstairs in the kitchen for the bunk house. My husband and I travelled in a party of motorcyclists with 3 other couples we had a...

We stayed at the Portree Guest House recently. It was very good value. The beds were comfortable and we were able to make our own drinks in the lounge with tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided for free, which was a nice touch.

Overall the Portree had many good points. The location was central and everything we wanted to see in Waterford was within walking distance. Our room was clean and our breakfast was enjoyable. The only drawback was the smell of cigarette smoke, which was coming from the main floor of the house. Twice we went out and on our return were...

Stayed at Portree Guest House from 29th November until 3rd December and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Staff were very welcoming upon arrival and really went out of their way to make their guests comfortable. At breakfast you are presented with an excellent choice of cereals, yoghurt etc, before receiving a lovely cooked breakfast, I would certainly...

Our family (2 adults and 2 boys under 10) Stayed here a couple of years ago, so did not hesitate to rebook this time. We stayed in a family suite, which had everything we needed, and was presented very nicely indeed! The manager, Mr Walker was friendly, very helpful and polite and any questions or requirements we or our boys...

In fairness to this Guesthouse, it did have some plus points..... But at the end of the day, we would not stay here again. It comes across much better online, than in reality. The positives: The man who greeted us was friendly and pleasant.... good wifi.... and the room was clean and tidy with some little extras like soap, flannel...

A work colleague booked this to save money and unfortunately it was disappointing. The host was very nice but that only painted over the cracks. Small shower (nigh on impossible to get into) and rooms that have seen little maintenance and look dated. Investment does not appear on their list and with a little investment this could be a good...

The shower would cycle from cold to hot every 30 sec. Just bring your own tubes and MasterMix, and you could run PCR while cleaning yourself (Note: gel run not included). Life, Agilent and Illumina take note! The host was friendly, Wifi perfect, the building was a charming Victorian, but accoutrements were dated. There was parking, but it was a...

Nothing wrong to say about this hostel. Good location close to the river and the city center, clean and specious room, friendly stuff. I spent there one night and my general impression is positive. In fact there was nothing special about this place but still nothing to complaint, it was simply fine.
