Staff was very nice, waitresses were fantastic. It was rated 4 star on Hotel.com, but we would rate it 3 star. Had very nice dinners and breakfast selection. In fact the cheesecake was 5 star, and I am very selective. The rooms, beds and covers are old and worn and we expected better from a 4 star hotel, thus we...

Ten out of ten for friendly welcoming staff and great food. Although the beds were comfortable, the bed linen and bedspreads had seen better days, with those replaced and a general bit of renovation in the bedroom and bathroom areas this hotel would have earned five stars from me.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Athenaeum. Beautiful and peaceful location, cosy surroundings. Clean and tidy rooms. Great food. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Marie in reception is lovely - a real asset to front of house. It was great waking up to not a sound and the view of the big garden. However, the mattress...

Quite a lovely property to enjoy, and the river enhances this. You really need a car (not a problem for most) as there's not much around you can walk easily to, but it's an easy drive to the centre of Waterford. The restaurant on site is superb - definitely try the lamb! Breakfasts are abundant and filling, with a good...

Spent 4 nights here and it was a great experience. The staff is so nice, friendly and accommodating. The location is beautiful and quiet. It isn't brand new, but lived up to my expectations. The only suggestion I have is that new pillows are needed on the beds. I would definitely stay here again.

A bit difficult to find, but gorgeous location and nice rooms. Very friendly staff.decent breakfast. Quaint hotel. Room was as expected. Just a short drive to the center of Waterford and the main attractions of Waterford Crystal, Reginald's Tower and the Medieval Museums.

Nice intimate and friendly place. Food was good, particularly breakfast. Staff were very efficient and made every effort to make our stay as stress free as possible. Hotel is nicely located just across the river from Reginald's Tower. An easy walk into town if you want, or a short taxi ride.

Spent a lovely week-end away in this hotel. Charming manor house hallway, diningroom and drawing room. Spacious bedroom, a little gloomy due to being on lower floor, but large bed and good, well supplied bathroom. Very friendly reception, waitress and bar staff.

This was a lovely hotel with wonderful people and very good restaurant . But the bed was horrible along with a tiny tv. If it had a good bed and larger tv I would give it a 5 . Sorry but the bed did it in for me.
