Lovely hotel in a wonderful little town. I couldn't manage to secure a booking at my usual hotel in Armagh so plumped for this hotel 30 minutes away across the border in Monaghan. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in and was given the Diamond Suite. Lovely, comfortable four poster bed in a palatial room. Guinness was superb and...

Went here last week for lunch. Havent been in it before and very happy to have found it. Varied menu and very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely décor too. Very busy but no rush. Will definitely visit again

I have lunched here semi regular as I drive for 2 hours to get here but it is worth it. To day {good Friday} we shared a beautiful crispy cod chips nd cabbage. A dessert of mousse like cheese cake, and service as if we were the only customers there. Perfect.

My wife and I stopped for lunch on our way home from Cavan. The bar was very busy for food which was a good sign but we had to wait for over 30 minutes for two sandwiches. We ordered two chicken sandwiches but got ham instead. When it did come the food was excellent but the wait spoiled our lunch.

We were there to attend a funeral nearby and needed to use the hotel as a family base. We were staying across 3 sets of rooms, some family some twins and doubles. on checking in, it was a late, busy friday evening, but the reception staff could not have done more to help us get settled in. Our rooms were...

Ive never stayed here but I would regularly go for bar food and I have yet to be disappointed. The 10ounce steak is my favourite, its always cooked to perfection. Only downside is that if you are ever waiting longer than you should on food they will never apologise.

Always eat here portions are good and the food well presented my only criticism would be that it could be hotter as on several occasions my food was just warm and I like it piping hot other than that decor & atmosphere great .

Stopped off here for lunch during our shopping trip. The staff messed up my sisters' orders I think three times in total! And came to clean up the table while we were still eating! The food itself was quite fresh and tasty but service could do with some training. After our meal in Monaghan town Saturday night, we headed for...

From the moment we arrived it was a great experience. The lovely friendly lady on reception made as feel really welcome in her beautiful Irish way. We were put in the Diamond Suite wow what a treat. Gorgeous room in a quaint old worldly way. The bar/restaurant was really nice and so was the service and food. The breakfast was...

Stayed here again and as always it impressed. The staff are friendly and the room are pleasant (some are a little dated but perfectly fine) the breakfast is excellent as is the bar/restaurant. Good free car park along with free WiFi. Central location and within walking distance of bars and restaurants.
