We came for the music festival and stayed two nights. The restaurant and bar were busy, testament to the delicious food. The staff were invariably friendly and went the extra mile, including letting us keep our room a little longer on checkout day, which was much appreciated. Lovely place, highly recommended.

Great staff and service make this little hotel well worth recommending. Lots of atmosphere with very interesting murals, not to everyone’s taste I’ll bet. Nice little bar, great bar food and super breakfast.

Excellent stay again at Scholars . The staff and service score very highly and significantly they seem to retain all their staff . The restaurant is really brilliant and the team in both the kitchen and dining room score full marks . We can't wait to return . Nice cozy bar too !!!!

Scholars Townhouse is THE upscale place for a night out in Drogheda, Louth. Fine woodwork everywhere, and the resturaunt and lounge are both old-style and comfortable. I only had breakfast (3 times), and it was as good as any I've had in Ireland. I've heard that other food offerings are also very good. The staff were all professional, helpful, and...

What a great find! We were only spending one night in the area and couldn't have been more pleased with our find. We knew it was going to be a great experience the moment we arrived. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful flowers still in bloom surrounding the building. A charming hotel with a beautiful dinning...

An easy drive from Dublin and the gateway to many historic sites, this hotel is well placed for those wishing to explore the region. Formerly a school the owners invested heavily giving a sense of near gentleman's club elegance to the building. Breakfast to dinner, all meals are carefully prepared. Some may feel the portions just a little short of...

One night stay. Have eaten here before and was impressed. Food good again but portions scarce , clearly looking for diner to order sides. Pity but the staff were pleasant and efficient. Room small but tidy. No literature of any type in the room except the evac plan and Bord Failte rates. Tv simply too small. Slight odour in the...

A dear friend took me for afternoon tea at Scholars Townhouse Hotel, today Saturday, and it was absolutely divine. Beautiful fresh assorted sandwiches, fresh homemade mini scones, still warm, served with jam and clotted cream and little delicious assorted confectionery. This was all served with beautiful china tea set. I actually opted to have coffee rather then tea, and the...

Spent here two nights. Very good, comfortable. Little bit small rooms doesn't make this hotel worse, as it located in the city center, clean, good food and drinks, very good hospitality. In your room you can find all minimum what you need - boiler, hair dryer, big mirrors (good highlighted). Despite on good hospitality and convenient location, be ready for...

I've always loved to Scholars as a place to go for meetings or a light lunch in the bar. However I had the great joy of dining there last evening with a friend and left absolutely stunned by the calibre of dishes that were served. The service was as always warm, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable but it was the new...
