We stayed here last night as an overnight stop en route to Dublin. Can’t fault the place and wish we could have stayed longer. The sweeping drive leads up to a characterful house with original features and a very warm welcome from Alan. The rooms...More
We had a lovely stay, it felt like we were in the country side as opposed to just outside of Kilkenny centre. A fantastic breakfast (black and white pudding), nice view of the field out front with a couple of horses. Would highly recommend.
We stayed at Glendine with friends while touring Ireland, you will not be disappointed staying here. The house has been redone done and is beautiful. Tom & Ann were excellent hosts. Our room was the most beautiful B&B we have ever stayed in. I would...More

Glendine House is probably about a mile and a half to two miles from Kilkenny center. It was an easy and relatively direct car ride for about 5 minutes, as I recall. However, the owner of Glendine was more than happy to drive us there, if we wanted, but since he was able to tell us how to drive there and where to find parking, we chose to drive. We went to town at least three times, always finding our way and always finding parking very easily. There are certainly places right in town where you can walk out the door and be in the thick of it, but we liked the charm of Glendine and the beautiful grounds and found the owner to be just as helpful and pleasant as mentioned on all the reviews. I hope this helps.
