My wife and I took a glorious trip to Ireland for our honeymoon. Our third destination during the trip was Killarney, in which we stayed at the Carriglea House. The Carriglea House sits upon beautiful grounds where animals such as horses and a pony happily graze. Upon entering the house, soothing Romantic period music and Victorian decor greeted us. The...

My 17 yr old daughter and I recently stayed at Carriglea House on a trip to Ireland in July. From the moment we stepped out of our car, the views were spectacular. Upon entering the house, we felt immediately at home in this lovely Victorian which was filled to overflowing with charm. Eileen is lovely and her warm friendly demeanor...

From the horse and donkey who greet you, to Eileen (aka Ellen) who really runs the place, to the bedroom with sitting rooms attached, to the insane views of the lake across the road, Carriglea House oozes charm. We spent a couple of days there and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. When one of our party became ill, Eileen was on...

Of all the places we stayed in Ireland, this was the best experience. Eileen and her family made us feel like we were family. Would go back and spend my entire holiday there if I ever get another chance!!!!!

John and Eileen are amazingly wonderful hosts. The house is an old Victorian that has retained its charm and personality. Breakfast was perfect - the view was breathtaking - and our friendly horse and donkey in the front yard were so much fun!! Eileen was great at giving us tips on where to go for food and drink. I have...

Carriglea House is a beautiful home: clean, welcoming, and wonderfully comfortable. The location is outstanding - it is across from the National Park and a short distance from town. Eileen was very helpful in making recommendations for terrific places to eat and sights to see during our stay. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day....

We have stayed at Carriglea House several times and it is our favorite place in Killarney. The welcome mat is always out and if it's slightly worn looking, it's because so many people, like us, step in for a lovely, quiet, and relaxing visit. Eileen, John and their beautiful children provide old fashioned comfort and warm hospitality in their 150-year-old...

Irene was a wonderful host and made us feel very welcome to their beautiful old family home built around 1860. She also was very helpful as we planned our trips around the area and told us of places to visit that we had not put down on our itinerary. Our room was at the top of the grand steps, and...
