I stayed one night at Shamrock while walking the Kerry Way. Shamrock Farmhouse is perfect for walkers in that it is directly on the Kerry Way and in a very remote location in Black Valley that offers few accommodation options. There is a small hostel and there is another B&B a little off the trail near what is known as...

We arrived late to Sheila's warm greeting, a cozy fire in the stove, and a lovely room. Breakfast was great but the most amazing thing was the location. Remote, only a few walkers and rarely a car. Sheep grazing contentedly on steep mountainsides. Walked along the lakes of the Kerry Way, right outside the farmhouse door. Definitely worth the drive...

What a wonderful welcome by Sheila O'Sullivan and her family. We (6 of us hiking the Kerry Way) were served coffee/tea when we arrived and an incredibly delicious salmon dinner later. The rooms were spotless, the view of their surroundings priceless. And they graciously accommodated the vegans and vegetarians. Highly recommended.

Stopped here in the Black Valley after 26 kilometres walk from Killarney. Wonderful dinner, breakfast and warm friendly hosts. Highly recommend on Kerry Way route. Very isolated area no amenities to speak of in the Black Valley. Most rooms have small ensuites. Home cooked meals family run operation

Sheila, Margaret and family couldn't do enough for you. My son and I spent two nights here, whilst doing the Kerry way with a day on Carrantouhil thrown in. Perfect Irish hospitality, would highly recommend.

Our family has come and gone from this B&B for the last 15 years. From the first visit until our last visit 2 weeks ago, it has endeared itself to our hearts. Mostly because of its beautiful location and having gotten better acquainted with the proprietor (Sheila) and her family. Your reception will be a warm one with a cup...

I stayed here one night last week as I walked the Kerry Way. Sheila was very welcoming and made tea and scones on arrival and chatted to me throughout. The room was perfect, comfy bed, clean bathroom and I appreciated that she provided shampoo and shower gel. Lots of towels too. Evening meal was wholesome and I was very satisfied....

The location in the Black Valley is great. B+B is used by many Kerry Way walkers as overnight stay. Rooms are small but ok for one night if you don’t bring too much luggage. We had three course evening meal which was good but not worth the 22 euros we had to pay for it. Host Sheila was friendly and...
