John made our stay at Killarney Royal Hotel. His service went above and beyond (& it was late at night!!). We enjoyed the putting in the room too! Rooms were very clean. Overall our stay was great. Thank you John!!
My college friends and I stayed here for 3 nights while touring Ireland and we had a great experience. The hotel is clean, tastefully appointed, and staffed with delightful people, especially John! He has supposedly been working there since 1990 and was super friendly and helpful. I don’t think he ever slept…he would be the last one we’d see at night and first one we’d see again in the morning! He made our stay that much better, what an amazing lad! If you do stay here, be sure to tip him well - he will have earned it! The restaurants and food are great and the location is perfect - easy walking distance from and to anywhere. I highly recommend this hotel if you are ever staying in or passing through Killarney!
Lovely hotel in a great location near the heart of Killarney. What really set our experience apart though was the service. The staff is unbelievably friendly and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and have everything you need. We particularly appreciated the bar staff and the night porter John. Fantastic experience all around.
We were in Ireland for a 1 week golf trip, and we stayed the entire duration at the Royal. It was absolutely delightful. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. From the front desk, to the restaurant and bar, to folks helping us with our luggage, each step of the way was so incredibly inviting, kind, and hospitable. Additionally, the accommodations were clean and extremely comfortable. I cannot recommend the Royal strongly enough
The Killarney Royal Hotel has an ornate, fancy feel, includes 2 restaurants, and even an afternoon tea. The location is great- close to shopping in town- and we scored a good summer package deal that included our rooms, dinner, and breakfast so it was a good value. Dinner at the restaurant was several courses, including starters, a sorbet palate cleanser, mains, and dessert. For vegetarians there was bruschetta, soup, a pasta dish, and risotto (though, I found the risotto boring). Breakfast in the morning was nice with a self-serve buffet and then hot breakfast to order. Our rooms were comfortable. The king room was very spacious and the twin room had a huge, lovely bathroom. There was an issue with some noise coming from the pub next door in the king room. The biggest issue I had was with the parking. When I booked, it said free parking and I assumed this meant on site at the actual hotel. But I found out (via an email) days before our trip that the parking is actually at their sister site a block away. We had a bit of trouble finding the parking lot and the signs did not indicate that parking was free for Killarney Royal guests so this lead to some uncertainty and then we had to haul our luggage over to the hotel, across 2 streets. While the walk is not at all far, it was a bit of a problem for my parents. I would recommend the hotel offer a luggage service for those in need, update their signage to put customers at ease, and update the website so it is clear that the free parking is located off premises before booking. Otherwise, I would recommend the hotel.…
We were here 20 years ago and loved every second.. we returned with our sons for a golf trip and it's like we never left.. Johnnie, Nula and staff all remembered us like family.. I can't give enough stars to this luxurious warm hotel.. Killarney is such a fun town and this hotel is absolutely #1.. Happy Birthday Johnnie!
A beautiful luxurious hotel in the heart of Killarney. Able to walk everywhere. Fully up to date and cared for with exceptional service. Everyone on their team goes above and beyond. The night watchman John doubles as a late night concierge ready to make a nightcap or a sandwich which were both very appreciated! I can’t wait to return.
John and all the staff at the hotel were the absolute best! Service is excellent! The breakfast was absolutely amazing!! I couldn’t recommended it any more highly!! If your going to Killarney it’s an amazing place to stay!!
My wife and I recently toured Ireland and had the distinct pleasure of spending three nights at the Killarney Royal. The hotel is perfectly located to take in the sites and the wonderful restaurants and pubs. Each day we came back to the Killarney Royal and enjoyed a drink at the bar. Kudos to Mike, Fred and Tara for taking good care of us!
The Killarney Royal was great. The location to the center of things to do, shops, food and music is perfect. You’ll be hard pressed to find a staff that is more friendly and attentive anywhere. Especially Nuala, Joanne and Mike but everyone is fabulous.
