One of the best hostels we have stayed in, in a long time. Would have given 5/5 but for the arrogance and lack of people skills of the overnight security. That said, the rest of the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and very accommodating.

A quick walk from the train station and to all the main areas in Galway. Staff was great at answering all our inquiries. Sometimes one hesitates to stay at hostels as they are loud etc. This was NOT the case in Kinlay. We had a double room ( very clean, quiet and spacious) and the place was a lively, fun...

Set a 30 second walk from eyre square and a 5 minute bus ride to the beach this is a wonderful hostel! A beautiful breakfast including scones and toast, access to water and ice cream at the reception desk as well as a sweet or two. The free wifi access is fantastic and there are plenty of toilets/ showers and...

The location is great (right by eyre sq, very close to the quay st and the latin quarter), the staff is friendly and very helpful and the rooms are good. The breakfast wasn't brilliant (I only got there at 10 AM though, minutes before it closed). Overall great experience, well worth it's good price.

Overpriced Hostel for twin room with no facilites, mould and fungus growing in the showers. Lots of noise in corridor until 3am with no reminder from overnight staff member to keep quite for those sleeping. 5 female showers to one very large floor of dorms. Will never stay here again. Don't know how they won Hostel of the year.

Dear Guest, It is very disappointing for our staff when such a review is posted. Our team work so hard to ensure that everything is perfect for our guests and we all take reviews like this to heart. I feel it is important to give the context around this review so that other readers can know the full facts. When...

It's hard to tally up all the things this big hostel does right, but I'll make a start. First off, it is the next street over from the bus and rail station and on the south-western side of Eyre Square; in other words, it is exactly where you want it to be. It has every facility you want: for your...

We spent some nights in Galway - and the hostel was a nice place to stay. It is really close to the city center, as for the double room it had a bath room to itself, and breakfast was nice. It is a pretty much standard hostel, but the service was extraordinary friendly!

I have stayed in a few hostels in Galway and Kinlay is definitely my favourite. The staff were all extremely friendly and helped to book us on a tour to the Cliffs of Moher last minute- which was a day well spent. Security is also very good here with key card access and security guards on the corridors at night,...

We've been there for four nights and we enjoyed it a lot, especially the breakfast! Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, showers hot and the guys in reception are ready to help you. Wifi is free, you don't need any password and the signal arrives strong even in the rooms.

Kinlay ticked all the boxes for a great hostel. It was modern, had big well planned common and meal areas, and well set up rooms with comfy bunks that didn't rock back and forward when anyone else moved (my pet hostel peeve). There are lockable cages under each bunk for your stuff, and the 8 bed dorm that we were...
