Was here last June and returned this year. Arrived late and found the hotel behind the scaffolding. Renovations will be complete by Race Week. The test of the character of the Management and Staff is how they handled the major disruption around them. We had some issues and they were resolved quickly and efficiently. The hotel is convenient to town...

Spent the afternoon at the Menlo park hotel today and was so impressed. The standard of service by the reception, food and bar staff was best I've had in galway in a long time. Our dinners were delicious and the variety of options and dishes suited to our dietary requirements were brilliant. They are doing renovations which look like they...

Located about a mile outside Eyre Square, which is centre of Galway, on the edge of a housing estate. So be prepared to enjoy your own company or take one of the busses into town, every half hour, or walk for 15-20 min. Taxi costs 8-9 euro one way Our visit also coincided with the Jackhammers – they seem to...

So, first the history. You have probably seen Menlo Park mentioned in connection with tech giants like Apple, Facebook etc...and thought that it was weird native American. But, it actually comes from here, a small village outside Galway (Menlo is an anglicisation of Monloch, in Irish meaning Middle Lake). The CA-Menlo was named by two immigrants from Galway-Menlo who had...
